Item stolen after Ebay Authentication-Ebay won't file a claim with the shipper

I bought an expensive piece of jewelry. The seller sent it to Ebay Authentication - they sent it with GLS shipping with signature on delivery. I received an empty damaged box and a notification I had signed for the item. When I contacted the shipper for proof of signature they sent me what was clearly not my signature as I had never signed for the item. Now Ebay has refused to give me back my money - after being a 12 year customer-and is refusing to file a claim with the shipper so I can get my money back through them. I will never shop with Ebay again and if I were a seller I would not use Ebay Authentication office. This is just an FYI for everyone.

I sold an item that went to the Authentication program and GLS stole it. Ebay resolved my case and said they are accumulating nightmare GLS stories. Hopefully they drop them soon.

@metromaps glad to hear they might be finally reconsidering this disastrous decision but it's really just unforgiveable they've put so many customers through the ringer in the first place by partnering with a company that they should have known would be a "nightmare story" just from reading the reviews. 🤦‍

WOW! They have a terrible record.

I can attest to that - when my regular mail carrier delivers signature required packages, he just signs himself, and I get a loud knock on the door.  I trust him, and he knows if I'm home, but the 'signature required' service doesn't seem to offer much assurance these days.

I believe the delivery driver “signed” for it and emptied the box before he dropped it off on my door as there were two packing popcorns in the box but all the rest were missing and none found around my doorstep. I also have the signature they used from the shipping company.

Do you or any neighbors have camera that may have recorded the dropoff?
