Item never arrived, UPS says delivered, Ghosted by seller. Ebay closes my case

I purchased something for $600 from a seller with 3 feedback... It took a while to ship, but it did. UPS tracking says the item was delivered, when I know for a fact it was not ( I was doing yardwork when it supposedly arrived/ I dont live in an area where packages are stolen). 

UPS will not do anything for me, including tracing the package because it needs to be initiated by the shipper (seller). 

Seller has ghosted me, and Ebay closes my case because there is "proof of delivery".  Any advice?

I wouldn't.   No need to.   Just item not as described.   That's all.

Check to see what town the package was delivered to. If it is the same then it will be more challenging to fight, if not eBay should be able to see this and help you get your money back. I have been running into this more of late. But if eBay cannot help you, you have two options: if you used PayPal, file a PayPal claim or file a chargeback with your bank or credit card. If it did not go thru PayPal, you can file a chargeback with your bank or credit card company saying you never received the item. With it being $600, most credit card companies will require a package to be signed for because of its value. I think for PayPal it is $750.

This is a common problem.  eBay bots/customer service will only look to see that something was "delivered".  They don't care who it was from or where it was sent.  They don't even care if the label was generated BEFORE you even purchased the item. 

Why are you not able to view the tracking information?   When I buy something, it has always been available to me.  It should have been added to the case, or added to the site prior to filing item not received.

I had exactly the same situation and the case was handled terribly by eBay. Look up the tracking, you did not miss the delivery since there was no delivery. These scammers were somehow able to fake it and eBay is not doing anything.
