Item Not Delivered - Seller scam sent pkg to another address in town

An item I purchase through Ebay never arrived. USPS tracking said it was delivered. Problem was that the tracking only shows the town it was delivered to but not actual address.  I put in a claim. Seller showed proof. Ebay denied request, I appealed and upload detail tracking info from post office. Ebay denied again! They did send an email for me to appeal through the post office as Ebay wants them to take the blame.  I did that and got denied by USPS.  Went back to post office and postmaster said it is a common scam for sellers to mail "dummy" packages to another address in your town. I ordered golf shoes. The package delivered across town, weighed 12oz and was 2"x 2".  No way golf shoes were in that package! Do not appeal your case with Ebay unless you have a letter from the postmaster with their logo and all supporting documents!  They consider the case closed after the first appeal.  I am trying to get it reopened but it's nearly impossible.  I have put a claim in with the credit card company. Ebay should want these sellers removed!

The same fake tracking scam issue is report here just about every day now.   Hopefully, you made it VERY CLEAR to your credit card company that this was NOT an item not received issue, but rather the fake tracking scam problem.  If you have not, you will lose again once the claim is submitted to eBay and they respond the the same "tracking shows delivered" mantra. 

eBay does remove these sellers when they start costing eBay money.

Thank you for the information ittybitnot.  I have been able to upload documents to ebay and a letter from the postmaster, but I am still getting the go around.   Each reply comes from a different customer service rep suggesting yet another solution other than refunding my money.  Now they have asked me to report a seller but that link is giving an error "we ran into a problem please try again later".  Very frustrating!  I would suggest to others who do not get a package to go directly to the post office and have them pull the detailed tracking info.

Same thing happened to me, except with FedEx. I’m getting the runaround from eBay too. At this point I view eBay identically to the original scam seller. They know exactly what is happening but refuse to acknowledge it. Presumably the people we write with at eBay’s job depend on not acknowledging it. 

Good luck to you but I think the only thing scammed buyers can do is never shop at eBay again. Also tell everyone you know what happened.

Unfortunately, I did not see this topic posted a few days ago, or I would have replied by posting the link below where I layout the process of dealing with fake tracking scams. 

  Beyond ebay's standard appeal, there is one more option they have and that is through their Facebook or Twitter social media sites, which are manned by actual ebay employees who have the power to overturn lost disputes or appeals and issue refunds.

I'm having the same issue the seller changed the address to another one actually a hospital in my area not same zip  i have and someone signed for it found this out from FedEx , the seller is not answering my messages either I have bought from him before and no problems I guess it does not matter a want is a refund now  and I cannot get in touch with Ebay  to talk to someone since no one is there to talk too makes me feel like ebay does not care either,

Open INAD, seller will have to provide label for return, return whatever you feel like returning (old sock, whatever)

Thee seller's don't deserve the consideration of eBay policy and I refuse to jump through hoops for them.

In fact to punish them further I would be going straight to a Credit Card Charge back and stinging them for another $20.00 charge when they lose.
