So I was looking at a brake kit and my smart phone selected commit to buy in my pocket no big deal, right? I messaged them minutes after it happen and they have not got back to me. I've called 20+ times and messaged them around the same amount of times also. I can't talk to anyone at eBay and the eBay message system feels like I'm working with a robot and I'm getting no where with them. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of because I've tried fixing this over 100 times now. This is starting to feel like I'm being played. The item is over $500 dollars too...

Oh, I see now!
Thanks

Are you purposely ignoring what everyone is saying because it isn’t what you want to hear?
The seller isn’t obligated to cancel the sale if you ask, it doesn’t matter if others did (one wonders, how often do you do this?).
LOL at calling EBay, they won’t cancel it for you - you bid.
Not sure why you think the seller wasted time on auto-settings as opposed to replying (translation: giving you your way). They probably set up their UID process years ago. It’s one and done for a seller’s entire listings not a choose single listings setting.

LOL @ Google Voice is usually scammers. 😂
My school just gave every teacher a Google phone number so families and students can reach us during the pandemic without our personal numbers.
Has it occurred to you that even large sellers might work primarily out of their homes?

No one is making you pay. One unpaid item doesn’t hurt you.
Even two strikes only keeps you from bidding with sellers who bothered to put that in place. EBay doesn’t kick you off or anything.
Just how often do you do this, and why are you so frantic to get a free pass on it? No one is going to make you pay.

Just one more bit of advice which you may or may not find useful. I would recommend that if you find that you are having problems with your phone making calls or purchases while in your pocket it might be a good thing not too carry your phone there. Just a suggestion.

Only time I've ever encountered a google voice subscription is when someone is trying to scam me

Nope, did you read the topic?

@angdibbs wrote:I didn't let this go for days without taking action... You are crazy if you think I should pay over $500 for a item I don't want. I messaged and tried to cancel with in seconds. This is not a game, I'm trying to get info on how to get ahold of the seller or eBay not get shamed...
I did not say you waited.
I did not say that I think you should pay.
Again................ you messaged the seller. You now know that this is not the way to request a cancellation in the "golden hour" where eBay allows you to "request to cancel" with a spot to easily select that. Doing it in the proper way shields you from the dreaded UPI strike on your account. (only you and eBay would see the strike)

I can't see the seller's feedback referred to in this thread in order to give my opinion on whether or not I think they are a potential scammer or not, but the seller who scammed me and at least 300 other buyers a few weeks ago also had a lot of great feedback at the time we all placed our orders. A week later, their feedback went from excellent to horrible. While this seller's good feedback might be a good indicator that they are on the up and up, it isn't necessarily a given. When it comes to dealing with people you don't know, such as people you're dealing with on eBay, I think the saying I once got in a fortune cookie said it best: "Love all but trust few."

They've got glowing feedback 99.9 for last 12 months. While yes some accounts can down hill fast it often happens with hijacked accounts accounts who opened to scam and built up feedback as a buyer to look good as a seller. This is a seller with over a year track record selling auto parts with very few issues. The few complaints on the feedback are about parts arriving damaged and having trouble contacting the seller both which can be expected when dealing with a large volume. I can pretty confidently say they aren't scamming and the op has no reason to think that or accuse them of it.

Here is what I had happen today. I went to purchase an item went through the entire check out process and got an error message saying it didn't go through. Ok. So I went though the process again ordered all done. Went to my purchase history the first order did go through...ugh. Anyhow I've messaged the seller explaining my mistake. If they dont cancel oh well I'll just have two of the item I guess lol. And this wasn't even my error it was an eBay error but I'm not going to blame the seller or accuse them of being a scammer if they don't respond or cancel.

I also had that happen a few days ago and also a week ago when trying to make a purchase. Only difference is, I double checked my purchase history before going through the process again just to make sure nothing new was showing up there. So, as one of the most knowledgeable persons on this board said to someone else in message #30 of this thread: "....be more careful in the future."
Sorry, I couldn't resist. 😊

Ha that's exactly why I'm not going to be upset my first thought was I should have checked my purchase history. I was just so frustrated that it didn't go through
I didn't consider it might actually have. Better believe next time I will be :).
