So I was looking at a brake kit and my smart phone selected commit to buy in my pocket no big deal, right? I messaged them minutes after it happen and they have not got back to me. I've called 20+ times and messaged them around the same amount of times also. I can't talk to anyone at eBay and the eBay message system feels like I'm working with a robot and I'm getting no where with them. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of because I've tried fixing this over 100 times now. This is starting to feel like I'm being played. The item is over $500 dollars too...

If they don't cancel it for you, they will probably file a case against you for not paying for it. Not paying for something once won't hurt your account, but if you do it more often, many people have their setting set so that people with many non-payment cases can't buy their items. Your call about if you chose to pay or not if they won't cancel.

Ebay buyer guide says you have one hour to contact the seller and notify them of you canceled item requests. I just feel like the seller is setup to not be able tk get ahold of. I feel like this is a scam 😕

Give them a chance to respond. If it is an independent seller, they probably don't spend 24 hours in front of their keyboard. I hope they cancel it for you. I think most sellers usually will cancel, but not everyone will.

Thank you for the reply!

Come back tomorrow and let us know how it goes.

But ultimately it's only a request. The seller has no obligation to agree.

I've been trying to get ahold of them for 4 days now. I've never had this issue with a seller in my 7 years buying and selling on eBay. It's just frustrating when I messaged them all day and I get a reminder to pay now the next day and then I messaged them for another 2 days and they opened a unpaid item case. This is very shady if you ask me.

If the buyer person pocket committing to purchase does an official "request to cancel" within the "golden hour" a UPI can not be opened.

I'm not sure where you read that, but it is not correct.
From the eBay help page entitled Cancel an order
Cancel an order
If you made your purchase in the last hour and it hasn't been shipped yet, you can send a cancellation request to the seller. If it’s been more than an hour since your purchase, you need to contact the seller directly and ask them to cancel it for you. In both cases, the seller can either accept or decline your cancellation request.

More likely they don’t sit on their emails and/or are just letting their auto-setting file the unpaid item.
Shady?
Should I tell you how much we all joke about buyers with remorse claiming they pocket-bought, their kid did it, the kitty cat bid....
I imagine some are are real, but.....
You do realize it’s a hassle for sellers when their item gets taken off the market and then they have to take steps to let a buyer off the hook and relist the item?
Why shouldn’t a pocket purchase get an unpaid strike?
I bet you remember to click out of the screen next time, before sliding your phone back in your pocket.
I’m not trying to be mean, I’m just asking you to see the other side. The seller isn’t obligated to let you off the hook scot free. It was your boo boo, not his.

While eBay gives you one hour to request a cancellation, the seller is not required to accept the request.
I'm somewhat curious as to why you had your phone in your pocket while still logged into eBay or on the app?

As I previously mentioned, while eBay gives you an hour to request a cancellation the seller is not required to grant it. However, I'm extremely curious as to why you feel this is a scam. Especially when you're claiming that the order was placed as a result of what is commonly referred to as a butt dial.
