Is it possible for an eBay seller to call you?

Had a message from someone who I think might be a seller I purchased a book from, however, they did not reference eBay at all just that I had ordered a book (did not mention title either). I did order a book 02 February which was marked shipped but the tracking still has no attached updates. 

First, should not all contact be through eBay for everyone's benefit. Plus how would they get my phone number. I am pretty sure it isn't listed with eBay.

Very perplexed.

I just checked a completed sale of mine, and the order DOES show the buyer's phone number.

I'd never contact someone that way, but, yes... it appears it CAN be done. Hmmm...

Yes -seller gets buyers phone number for 2 weeks after the sale. If you dont want to call him back then just send him a message through the sold listing and ask him whats up. Maybe there is a problem with your address or with shipping the book.
