If you buy something from a seller in Canada do you have to pay for a Customs fee when it arrives?

I always wonder if I buy something from Canada do I have to pay a custom fee when the item arrives? Multiple sources said if the item value is under $800 you shouldn't have to worry about that fee. What are your experiences ordering something from Canada or anywhere else international and did you have to pay that fee for receiving your order?

Correct, there is no duty to be paid on items under $800 entering the USA from Canada.
