If they want to lose great customers in droves, this is an excellent way to do it as it happens to me several times a day.

I've closed my account once recently due to shady vendor shipping practices. I've bought thousands of items here on ebay over the last 3 years. No joke. Why is e-bay giving buyers a hard time shopping - instead they ought to go after those shady MF's but they won't. E-bay makes it seem like they don't want shopping here to be a pleasurable experience in my honest opinion.

They want to know if I am human but they do not give us an option, or opportunity to tell them precisely why valued customers close their accounts.

Selecting personal reason does not open any thing up for us to give them constructive criticism, which is required to better serve the community as well as to see what changes they NEED TO or SHOULD make in a timely manner.

If you are having to 'prove' that you are human; then it's because:

a.) you are on a VPN

b.) you are NOT allowing cookies

c.) your cookies are full...

d.) your 'internet protecter, ie. Norton is NOT allowing...

e.) either way; it's your computer, your internet provider- something BESIDES this site.

How do I know?

Because I've been here for 25 years

Because my kids (adult) have been here for 20 years

Because my wife has been on this site for 20+ years

and NONE of us have

a.) had this problem

b.) have this problem

It's you or your computer.

NOT the site.

Find it.

Fix it.

But best to NOT blame the 'site' as it is NOT their fault.

Well they have no problem spamming my email with ads and offers, "your discount has arrived." Just because I looked at an item here, doesn't necessarily mean I am willing to part with my cold, hard 'cash'. That's a sign they're calling me back to look, shop or whatever, but first they have to very if I am a ROBOT. It's a constant battle that only has happened recently. Like within the last month or so.

I like my VPN and I will not log online without it. In the same token, I highly encourage others not to do so as well, but you might be onto something that I can 'check' to try and solve this issue, so thanks for your reply.

VPN causes nothing but 'issues' here.

I would highly recommend NOBODY wanting to do business with a site (ebay, CL, Etsy, AZ etc.) on a VPN

I respect your choice to use a VPN. But choices come with consequences, one of which is that you're going to have to continue to prove you're human. That's a 'you issue', not an 'eBay issue'.

You need to get used to this AI related stuff, it's only going to get bigger. This is not only an ebay thing and no, it won't cause everyone to leave. Some may choose to but "droves" is a little overboard methinks.
