@clajano_13 the order has an estimated delivery date on it, if u don't receive the item by the last date, open an item not rec'd case starting the next day after that last date and up to 30 days

My buyers don't hear anything from me.
After a buyer pays, I ship. Tracking becomes available when I ship.
When did you purchase? This was/is a Holiday weekend.

What is it that you're expecting to hear?
I don't contact buyers after a sale either. I just ship the item & when I do, the tracking is there, like @buyselljack2016 said & the buyer can check the tracking.
I don't think most sellers make contact, other than shipping the package.

Wait one day past the last given delivery date. At that point you can file an item not received case. You should allow some extra time for delivery delays. All the bad weather has disrupted shipping. Cargo flights go out last too.
Your seller could be busy or even have weather caused internet outage.

Just the opposite here, I contact every buyer once my Auctions expire..
However, I'm a hobbyist and just a little feller that still subscribes to the old school ebay platform in a category that's being fazed out quickly..
As an early eBay Buyer / Seller it's disheartening but as a stockholder I get it..

Please, for your future safety as an eBay buyer, read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers.

I've been selling here since 1997, so I'm pretty "old school" myself. I have no idea what's "disheartening" about it. In the early days, there were few automated emails that eBay sent, now there are about 20 for every transaction. Also, tracking was rarely used back then & if it was even avl, was an additional cost to purchase.
I see no need for it. When I buy, I already receive way too many unnecessary emails about my purhase. I don't wish to or find it necessary to, inflict one more upon my buyers. They send WAY too many as it is. Plus most buyers these days know how to track pkgs. That wasn't a thing at the dawn of eBay.
Of course, you should do whatever makes you happy, but I already hate how many unnecessary emails are attached to every sale, I'm not going to inflict any more on my buyers, when eBay automatically sends them.
In this particular case however, it seems OP forgot to mention that it is a pick up situation, so the answers would be radically different had they mentioned this hugely important fact.

Once again, For Myself,,, i think it's about what your Selling, The Category and the price point.. I've never had any feedback left that implied that I communicated To Much about Acknowledging an Order, Receiving Their Payment, Appreciating their Business and when "I" Will send their item out regardless of what an ebay generated notice they received stated. Never been fond of the big box or Amazon internet attitude when it comes to selling antique, cottage industry or one of a kind items.. Looking at my feedbac know just to ensure I'm correct,,,and,,,,, yep I am!
