I HATE, I repeat HATE Sponsored Listings. They are ruining my eBay experience, and you can best believe that I will NEVER purchase a Sponsored item.
I want a way to turn them OFF. I do not want to see the same overpriced item at the top, middle, and bottom of every page of results, especially when I have specific sort criteria. What is the point of 'newly listed' or 'price low to high' if the first results are the Sponsored Listing? I guarantee you that seeing these same listings over and over is not going to weaken my resolve and make me want to purchase these random items. Au contraire, mon frère. Any seller that makes frequent use of Sponsored Listings is going to go on my blacklist. You people are the worst.

Promoted listings appear in the search results as "Sponsored". Dunno' why the name change. But they're one and the same. And super annoying.

How would an ad-blocking app work since they're not actual ads, they're normal-appearing listings.

Promoted listings are sponsored listings.

The thing I most dislike about sponsored listings is that the shipping cost doesn't seem to show, but only for the sponsored listing at the top, not the regular listing where it normally shows up when you sort by price (cost+shipping). Just noticed this today that an item that costs $50 + $13 shipping only shows $50 when it is at the top under "sponsored listing" but down where it should be in the sorted list it shows $50 (+$13 shipping) as it should. So deceptive as I thought it was the cheapest when I saw the sponsored version.

I'm sure as h_ll not buying anything that inserts itself uninvited into my customized searches. I have a big NO SOLICITING sign on the front of my house, and that's all sponsored listings are, soliciting.

Install Ad Block Plus in your browser, go to the settings and uncheck "Allow Acceptable Ads" and the current crop of sponsored listings will no longer appear at the top and bottom of your search results.
That does not work. I've had AdBlock Plus all along, with 'Allow...' unchecked and still get the incredibly annoying sponsored crappe.

Can ad blocking work with the mobile app? I've never bothered to look into it but if that's possible that would be nice.
Yes.

Sorry to hear that is not working for you. For all the browsers I have tried using Windows 10, adding Ad Block Plus 3.6.1 and leaving all the default settings untouched except for unchecking "Allow Acceptable Ads" has stopped the sponsored listings from appearing at the top of search results for me.

Ebay are just being greedy, they dont need a subscription model when they are taking 10% of every sale plus 3.5% from paypal...

Not everyone is using Windows 10. Some of us are using the latest version of Android. And Chrome/Google.

The sponsored listings I see all seem to be Asian junk. I use very precise Boolean searches in my favorite Ebay categories and sponsored listings SHOULD NOT BE SHOWING UP IN THEM.
If everyone would click on the Report Listing link inside of each and report them for even being there maybe Ebay would get the message that many of us hate them showing up.

Ebay never ceases to amaze me with their endless stream of horrible ideas.
