How do I do private messages

Not sure which board to chose with this.  Sorry.  Anyway, I got an email saying I got a private message in the eBay community.  I didn't click on anything in the email for fear of a hack or scam thingy.  If it is legit ... I'd never gotten a private message before and don't know where to go to retrieve it.  Can you clue me in?

Hi @luckykey3 

Click on the 'envelope' icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.  That is where you'd find a 'private message'.  There should be a red indicator near the envelope when there's a message.

In my opinion, you are wise not to click ANY links in ANY email.

Did the email come from ebay?

If you have a private message from another member then the envelope icon will tell you.

I've never received an email that tells me that I have a private message... but sometimes I get PMs. To play it safe, rely on the envelope icon as advised. Edit: you may have to click on the message title to the left in your Inbox to read it. Good luck.

The envelope icon is at the top of this page (beside a bell) to your right.

At your Profile  >  My Settings  >  Personal  you can to choose whether or not to get the email noifications.
