On May 25, around 2:00 AM, I had placed an order for a seemingly good deal on what appeared to be a graphics card on eBay. There were 10 sold in 3 hours, so I thought it might be worth a shot, given that it was $61.9. I checked the description, and images to see nothing wrong with it. It stated I was even covered by eBay money-back guarantee. My first thought that the seller was either generous or mistakenly listed the item for the wrong price. I even took pictures and screenshots of the whole listing just in case the worst happens, and I possibly get scammed.
Well, on May 25, 6:45 AM, eBay had sent me an email stating that the listing for this item had been taken down, and they had taken the extra step to cancel my order. I was like, ok I will just let eBay handle it. HOWEVER, I am convinced that eBay had never canceled my order in the first place since I was still
charged for the amount that I paid, And the amount never got returned to me (I paid with a debit card through Paypal).
Suddenly, At around 9:00 PM on the same day, I received an order from eBay saying that the item had been shipped! My panic soon turned to excitement, but almost immediately back to panic.
First of all, The tracking number I have received from the order I placed does not match the type of item that I purchased, nor does it seem to be shipped towards my city.
eBay said that the tracking number was a FedEx one, but I could immediately tell it was a UPS number. I even pasted the tracking number into FedEx, and it didn't work.
I copy and pasted the tracking number into the UPS tracking website, The beginning of tracking starts on May 24, at 1:00 AM, stating that the shipping label was created. But I immediately realized something was wrong because this was ONE WHOLE day before I ever even placed an order for my item. Secondly, the information I found on there does NOT match whatever I bought. It says the package is 25 POUNDS. The item that I ordered with full packaging shouldn't weigh more than 2 or 3 pounds. And what's more, the destination of the package was In the same state, But a COMPLETELY different CITY than the one I live in, and the one I set my address to. Additionally, the State where the item was being shipped from was also a COMPLETELY different State from where the seller is located. I have full proof of my transaction on eBay and Paypal.
Since it has only been around one day since I placed my order, I am not sure how to deal with a situation like this, or where to go first.
To whoever reads this, I would really appreciate any help given.

Just use that @thepixe-49 to get your refund. You don't need UPS to write a letter, open a case, lose the case, appeal the case, get a police report, to get your refund.
Click "Contact eBay on Messenger" at Facebook here and leave your name, zip code, email, item number (see above). Then tell eBay you have a weight problem, to get your refund.

Yes it's a scam. I hope you paid by credit card as the fake tracking number scam can be tough to fight.
I would try and speak to an eBay rep. Click the help and contact link at lower right of this page.
Never buy those too good to be true deals, they always are scams. You need to get a letter from the shipper saying that tracking is not to your address. That can take many calls. Each time you will get a different rep. You have to reach one that will help.
This might not be so easy so don't give up.

Hii,
I'm sorry this happened to you! If you paid with PayPal, you have 180 days to get your money back. I think the same goes for credit card.
I would either contact eBay or PayPal / the creditcard company. You should be able to get your money back without any trouble!
Good luck! 🍀

That's not entirely true though... eBay is loaded with listings containing good deals! Unfortunately, scammers are among them.

Ebay is telling me after submitting all the proof of this scam, that they have to give the seller a week to respond to mine and others demand for refund....they will be long gone by then....was hoping this was going to be easier....Been on Ebay for 20 yrs, but this has sure diminished my respect of their platform...maybe all Amazon for me now!
