Feedback comments no longer visible?

I'm visiting eBay for the first time in several months. I want to look at the feedback comments for a seller whose positive feedback is in the 98% range. Depending on what the negatives are about, they may or may not meet my standard of reliability.

I used to do this by clicking the feedback number next to the seller's name. Now I find that the number is no longer a link.

Am I supposed to click the "98.x% positive" note, which is a link? No, that just displays another copy of the item description page... which is not just useless, but pointless. A link on the item description page that displays itself.

Apparently there's no way to display feedback comments any more... just the total count and percent positive.

I came here expecting to find heaps of messages howling about the change, but I checked the first four pages of buyer forum comments, and saw no mention of it.

Is this something I've missed that happened so long ago that it's old news? Or something so new that I'm the first person to notice it? Or am i missing something?

Re: Feedback comments no longer visible?

You just taught me something! Yes, tick on the '100% Positive' link, scroll down to 'See all feedback' and tick that, too. After the page refreshes... tick 'Switch back to classic view' on the right. At least, that's what I did. Thanks!

@bitsofsiliconvalley,

Yes ebay did make a change that for some reason means doing exactly what mtgraves posted. IMO it was an AI suggestion to make the change. The only thing missing from mtgraves post was, On a listing page you scroll down to where you see the seller's username in a large font, and below the few comments is the See all feedback button.

"I want to look at the feedback comments for a seller whose positive feedback is in the 98% range. Depending on what the negatives are about, they may or may not meet my standard of reliability."

Any High Volume seller with less than a 98.6% rating, should be avoided. There are some very high volume sellers who have over a 99% rating, but have received hundreds of negative feedback, and even more neutrals. Personally, I look at both type of comments and have found if you add about half of the neutral feedback to the sellers negatives, their true percentage will be much lower. If the seller is from China, I try not to buy from them at all.

Re: Feedback comments no longer visible?

I tried again, and it works as you described... now. Last night, the "% positive" link displayed a new copy of the item description (the page I was clicking from), which was useless, as I said. I assumed I had made an error, but repeated tests I performed carefully on different items always gave me that result.

Either there was a bug in the code last night and they've fixed it, there's some kind of glitch in it that sometimes makes it fail, and for the moment it's working.

This does little to bolster my confidence in eBay, but at least I have the information I wanted.

Your advice about feedback is good, although the figure of 98.6% seems somewhat arbitrary. My rule is just "below 99.0%, be cautious; below 98.0%, forget it."
