Fedex delivery problems

HI, I have had 2 delivery problems. they said they left packages but they did not. I know they didn't deliver because I am 74 years old and disabled. I am home all day every day. I have security cameras that let me know if anyone comes down my driveway.  Has anyone else had a problem with deliveries that were not delivered? Thanks, 2811rhonda

Yes, it happens all the time.  As a matter of fact there was some discussion about this issue this morning.   DO NOT FILE an "Item not received" claim with eBay yet.  You will lose because there is a record of something delivered somewhere associated with your order.

Best to start finding out if the package was misdelivered or more importantly NOT intended for you in the first place.  The poster this morning provided something you can try with regards to FedEx as your first step:

"But, I just thought today of the link just below the delivery picture that says “report missing package”. Push that and they ask you if you found it. Answer no! On the next page as a safety precaution they ask you to enter the delivery address. You enter your address. It then says  “your address doesn’t match our records. Try again”. Isn’t that your evidence from FedEx that eBay demands you get and FedEx is refusing to give out."

Re: Fedex delivery problems

Hi, I got on the Fedex tracking and got the delivery proof. it said that it was delivered to "shipper/receiver" and did not have my address on it anywhere. Also the delivery weight was 1 pound and the item I ordered was at least 7 pounds. As I said I know it was not delivered, I was there all day. Fedex is just covering their tracks for lost or stolen items. And we buyers cannot do anything about it except to start buying on other websites

Re: Fedex delivery problems

Belive me I spent hours trying to get through to Fedex. They make sure there is no chance to file a claim with them.

You may wish to UNCHECK my post as the best answer (I think you can select it again and it will go away).  I say that because you are just getting started, and this has all the makings of a long drawn out process,  there is likely going to be some more and/or better advice coming that may be better!

Re: Fedex delivery problems

 As I said I know it was not delivered,

@2811rhonda

FedEx did their job by delivering to the address on the label.  Unfortunately, the address on the label was most likely NOT YOURS.  Even a video cam that shows nobody showed up all day is NOT the kind of evidence you need for eBay to reverse their decision.   The seller has provided proof of delivery.  eBay does not care if it was delivered to a gas station down the street or your local drug store.   They won't check, they won't call FedEx, and in these situations the Money Back Guarantee is a FAIL and they just hope you will give up and go away when FedEx refuses to give you a document stating the parcel was not intended for you.

You are on the right track, however, with the parcel weight. Where did you see that information?

Do you know how to take a screen shot with your device?

Did you try going to FedEx or filing via the delivery notice or "reporting missing item" that was in BOLD in message #2?

Re: Fedex delivery problems

HI, I have tried all of those things. I got the local police involved yesterday. I got the proof of delivery from fedex.  Go to tracking and enter the tracking number, on that page is a link to proof of delivery page. I just printed it out.  The proof of delivery says it was put on that truck. It had my name on it and the driver should know where he left it.

Re: Fedex delivery problems

 I got the proof of delivery from fedex.

@2811rhonda

Does that "proof of delivery" show the EXACT STREET ADDRESS to which this parcel was delivered?

How did you pay for this?

Re: Fedex delivery problems

The proof of delivery sheet just says " delivered to: shipping/receiving ". That's what bothers me is there is No street address.  I use paypal.

Re: Fedex delivery problems

I have also had problems with fedex. They delivered the wrong item with my name on the label. I called fedex first. What a waste of time. I filed and returned item. Seller can figure it out with fedex. I just want a refund.

Re: Fedex delivery problems

Good luck with that.  The item you received, was it a much cheaper item? I think sellers are using the Terrible  Fedex tracking system to scam buyers.  Here's how it works: You buy something and the seller then sends out a much cheaper item with a fedex tracking number. When the cheaper item is delivered the seller then can claim the expensive item was delivered.  It's a waste of time to try to get through to Fedex, so ebay says you got the right item and you lose. The seller wins. Anybody else have this experience?

Re: Fedex delivery problems

@2811rhonda,

You replied to @ittybitnot 's first post, writing:

"Hi, I got on the Fedex tracking and got the delivery proof. it said that it was delivered to "shipper/receiver" and did not have my address on it anywhere. Also the delivery weight was 1 pound and the item I ordered was at least 7 pounds.

Scammers like to ship via FedEx because they have a privacy policy that makes it hard to get proof of non delivery when an item is sent to a different address than the one on your Order Details.  When you file an Item NOt Received (INR) dispute through ebay, it is looked at by a computer that can only look for a Delivered scan, and no other information. When the claim is denied in the message you receive telling you that, there is an appeal button.

I cannot verify what I am about to write, but since it seems FedEx tracking can show a package's weight, and there is a verification page that asks you to enter your address and after you do it displays a message saying something like "Address not found, Wrong address entered, Address not found"   If one of those massages appears with your address shown. That may be enough proof to win an appeal.  If your address does not appear on the verification page, it will not help you, and in that case you will have to try, following the directions I posted in the link below.  Once you open it click on the Go to Best Answer button, There you can read what I wrote on how to try and get the information you need to win an appeal.   I know it may be difficult for you to do because of your disabilities, but you may have to do that.

If that does not work for you and you paid using PayPal try posting your issue on their Community. (Link Below) It seems Paypal has a way of getting refunds when ebay's money back guarantee doesn't work.

"As I said I know it was not delivered, I was there all day. Fedex is just covering their tracks for lost or stolen items. And we buyers cannot do anything about it except to start buying on other websites".

If you open the link above there is an explanation why ebay has trouble with this particular scam. Shopping on other sites may seem like an option, however, what makes you think this scam only happens on ebay?  At the bottom of my reply is some advice about vetting your sellers before buying from one. I going through your feedback profile and opening some of of the profiles of your recent sellers, I saw a few feedback comments saying items were delivered someplace else.
