Ebay, fix the listings! They still show in the wrong currency!! Is this a monty Python joke?

I'm traveling abroad.

I use the US ebay site. When I do a search, the prices of all the listings show in a different currency. The "Convert Prices to United States Dollar" only partially solves the issue. The whole listings still show in the currency of the country I'm in. I have to click on each item to see the actual price in US dollars. When there are hundreds of items to check, you get the idea...

I've looked all over and I can't find a way to fix this.

Is this a Mont Python sort of joke? It feels like! It's like everytime I try to change something to find a solution to this problem I get a,  "Haha! take this to the stomach!!  Did that hurt you punk!? We at ebay make it easy to make things hard - HAHA!! here's another one for you, malignant RAT! Bam!!  Troglodyte ebayer peasant don't ever come back!"

This could be easily solved. Don't change anything for the customer unless they specifically ask you to.

If you see a different currency you've navigated away from the US site.  Sign out and sign in ebay.com and then view the item(s).

No. That doesn't fix it. Like I said in the post, I've been in the US ebay all the time. Signed out, and signed in in the same site, nothing helps.

Only thing that fixes this is to use a vpn service, but most vpn's aren't free or do work all the time.

If you signed out and back into the same site you need to look at the web address you’re signing into.

Because you can’t be in www.ebay.com and seeing foreign currency. It’s not possible.

The adress is ebay.com I've attached a screenshot. As you can see, listings are showing the currency of the country I'm currently visiting (Uruguay).

The only way to see the USD price of these listings, is to click on them. Which is silly.  I sent ebay feedback on this bug because it's annoying.

Here's another example. This time I clicked on the item for sale. Ebay still shows me the price in UYU.

Afaik, there's no setting to change the currency for the main listings in the search list. I've also changed the "ship to" to the US, and that doesn't fix it either.

That explains A lot.

It’s because you’re currently in another country.
You didn’t mention that in your original post.

When I'm in the US, prices show in their respective currency, but I travel a lot. That only explains what I described in my posts regarding this issue.

If an ebay user travels abroad, they will see the same issue. Which, as you described, if you don't travel at all, then you won't have that problem, obviously. 😉 Prices will still show in your own currency. This is why you don't see this problem.

But for those who travel it will affect you.

I don’t think you are understanding me. 
Since you are in another country the IP address you are using tells eBay where you are and shows you the currency of that country in your listings. I’ll bet dollars to donuts if you look at another sellers items in the United States you will see the same thing. 
Keep in mind those sellers would have have their items showing internationally as well..

I did mention it, and like I said, ebay should show prices in the currency of the country where account has been registered originally.  If you're registered in the US, then show USD prices regardless of where you travel to. It's simple.

Hmmm, now wait a second. Maybe you're the developer guy, that's why you're trolling me and playing with words!

We're going in circles. Yes, I understand perfectly what you're saying. That's why if I use a vpn (which changes the IP adress) then it works. But it's not always possible to use a vpn nor should it be necessary to do that.

" I’ll bet dollars to donuts if you look at another sellers items in the United States you will see the same thing." Then I won the bet, you owe me 25 bucks,  because I showed above in the screenshot that I was searching for items in the US, and the prices still show in another currency.

Ebay should modify the system to not show prices, or languages in another format unless the user specifically requested it.

Let me simplify the issue from the point of view of a customer. I want prices in the search listing to show in the same currency regardless of where I'm traveling to.

Did you change any of the addresses in your eBay account?

Does your US ZIP Code show up when you look at listings?

[Just want to rule out all possible reasons for an inexplicable phenomenon.]

I did, I even changed it back and forth with different addresses and the listings still show in the current currency of the country I'm visiting. Zip address correctly shows in the US (AL).

I think I may have to use a vpn at this point and call it a day because not sure what else to try at this point.
