Ebay customer service getting worse

There were items missing from a shipment and the seller lied about shipping the rest of the order. I filed a case with Ebay and they told me I already got the shipment which was the original one. Ugh now I have to go through Paypal and my bank again

Looks like the people who replied aren't very intelligent. I've been with Ebay over 20 years and know how to play the game. I got a full refund and get to keep the partial shipment so I came out ahead

Yes, you got a shipment, which is you DON'T file a "not received" complaint with eBay. You file a "not as described" complaint. Then you don't have to go through PayPal or your bank, because when you file the correct complaint, eBay takes care of you.

Can agree with @releasethekraken_1 

 

At the end of the day, an INAD case (Item Not As Described) is the foolproof way to get your money back, it forces sellers to pay for your return shipping too. Ironically, the return reason can be abused time to time, but nevertheless it is a good tool to have for next time.

It sounds like you filed an Item Not Received case and the tracking showed that you received something, so the seller would win that case.

You need to file an Item Not As Described case, since you didn't receive all the items you ordered.

See if it'll let you file an INAD before going to Pay Pal.

Ebay relies on tracking info. They have no way of knowing what was in your package. Thus, they will usually side with the sender. 

 

Yes, dispute the charge with PayPal. If that fails, file a dispute with your credit card issuer. And only make future purchases using PayPal with a credit card for protection from similar scams. 

 

Always dispute with PayPal first because when you file a credit card dispute, it gets reported on your credit file as a dispute for the full amount of your credit line, which could harm your credit reputation with potential or existing creditors even though your numerical FICO credit score will not be effected per se.

The OP has now informed us that he doesn't need our help, that our replies are not very intelligent and that he got a full refund and got to keep the items he received  and came out ahead because he knows how to play the game.

In the words my daughter uses often. People ugh. 

Someone coming here complaining about the help they get just ugh. 

 

Now the ops solution is More like know how to cheat at the game..

 

And op considering the complaint was basically an implied annoyance of now I have to go though PayPal and my bank again it was pretty natural for all those "unintelligent" posters to think you didn't like going though those steps and to suggest that filing a different kind of case would prevent that.  But yeah sure go ahead and think those responding were the unintelligent ones.

Ebay customer service getting worse

Read the OP's last post.  Despite all of our "unintelligent" advice, he managed to handle this by ripping someone off.  Got a refund without needing to return anything (knows how to "play the game" and still come out ahead.

Anyone dusting off their BBL?
