not thinking about it i bought a video game from china a couple days ago. today i received a message from the seller, " OK.thank you very much.and china have virus.need wait About 10 Day shipping.thank you very much understand My friend!"
i did not think anything about buying this item from a china seller until i read this message about how they could not ship out my order because china was infected. i contacted the seller to cancel my order and received no response.
i contacted customer service and asked them to step in and cancel the order, they told me they could do nothing.
ebay needed to stop china from selling until the virus was under control for the safety of its buyers and country.
now i've got an item coming from an infected country that i can do nothing about.
does anyone else see this as a problem?

Not true - what? Everything I wrote is true, at the current most up-to-date level of science. Now, if you believe hearsay and superstition over science, that is your choice.
Hope you and your loved ones are going to be safe.

l tool have issues with this . Bought 2 items from a guy , his listing says located in California , of coarse it didn’t come in the 6 days as the listing states .Tracking showed the items in China 3 days after it was supposed to be delivered . I start a inr case , Ebay wants me to wait 2 more weeks to give the seller time to fix it ! Really l asked for a refund and told Ebay that the seller misrepresented where the item was located . I told them I purposely looked for items NOT coming from China . I feel like I got screwed over by EBay. The items are now in the states and l will get tomorrow . I ordered in February and delivery was supposed to be March 4-6 .

Not Funny you **bleep** **bleep**!
This is NOT the time to joke around. People are afraid for their lives. So lighten up Francis!

I am sorry to have read your concerned fear which is natural. I'd suggest to get the package UV exposed and wipe it with isopropyl alcohol. But first you will have to thoroughly protect your self like handling a coronavirus case. Best is to keep this in the sun light may be in a glass or plastic jar for solar exposure for a few days until very certain and after about a month i guess after proper ventilation and sterilisation may be you can use it. Else do not accept it.

Since the OP bought the item two months ago, he has probably made his decision by now about what to do.

I'm just jumping in here at the end to say one thing. (I didn't even read any of the other responses yet)
The whole freekin world is infected.
To be worried about what country something is coming from, at this point, is moot.

You are not going to get the virus from the package. But I would do everything in my power to cancel and get my money back. Buying from Chinese buyers always results in pure headache and disgust. There are no exceptions.

I think the real problem is that as far as I can tell, nothing is being ALLOWED to be shipped to or from there right now. I don't think it's right for ebay to allow things to be sold from a place that can't carry out their end of the deal. At least until things open up again.

quite odd when you consider I am unable to purchase ANYTHING from India,
Pakistan or Thailand on eBay but you can order ANYTHING your little heart
desires from China!!!
I realize China holds a great deal of our paper but why would eBay allow this
ESPECIALLY after trump made his feelings on China very well known? Is it eBay
that’s actually at fault for this or our own govt? And, if it IS our govt...obviously
the BIG question is why is China - the virus’s ORIGIN - getting a pass?

The "fault" for which countries you can ship to is not that political. Yesterday, USPS updated their "Service alerts" page with lists of countries that you can't ship to. . India is on the chart labeled "Suspension Due to Foreign Postal Operator Service Suspension" and Pakistan is on the chart for "Suspension Due to Unavailability of Transportation".

Is it safe to purchase any thing that comes from China ? I want to be safe .

Personally I'd feel just as safe purchasing from China as from the USA, since the USA has not been handling its pandemic situation very well at all...
