Ebay-The Final End of a Giant

I really didn't think it possible for a company to be on top & now decline to the bottom of the heap. I've been an Ebay buyer & sometimes seller since it first began so I can say with all clarity and conviction that the once dominant buy & sell platform of the internet has fallen so low I doubt it can ever recover.

The most crucial piece of the selling games algorithm which no business can do without.....the customer. When a company loses the trust of their customers that company is doomed and ready to close its doors.

Today, Ebay is a convoluted mess of bad sellers giving Ebay in general a bad name and in turn giving hard working good sellers a bad name and the most important of all the lack of live customer support, or any for that  matter.

The customer & business both need customer support &  real live customer support, not some email contact that may or may not address the buyer's concerns. The one problem the internet selling platform needs to overcome if it actually wants to dominate the brick & mortar retail business is customer service w real people and not some idiotic chat with a bot which continues to spell out the words, "I'm sorry, you need to be more specific". These online companies want so much to reap every penny they can and to achieve this they do away with all frontline personal.

Ebay's sellers; Ebay treats the sellers like the US government treats its citizen, meaning no protection, no support and fees that just keep building and finally when the seller is taxed so much & leaves Ebay say's thank you for your support by charging the sellers account more fees. For seller it now makes almost no sense to even bother listing items.

Conclusion; My opinion is that Ebay, while seeking cash, will finally sell off division after division until eventually there's nothing left but a destroyed name not even worth the price of a domain.  Soon we'll see how how Ebay does w/o buyers or sellers however in the end I believe Ebay will go where all destroyed businesses go to die and the life of the once internet giant will finally reside right next to  Sears, Kmart & Montgomery Wards. In the end the name Ebay will only be a footnote in the history of the internet while the name Ebay will eventually be forgot all together. RIP Ebay.

Sounds to me as though you did 5 minutes of research on Ebay and it's over inflated realistic position in the retail sector. On the other hand, as an investigative journalist, my words came after a month of research.

Just curious what you did for an entire month during your research. For example - what did you do on week 2? What did you do on week 3? Where will you be publishing your findings?

They read more like profound revelations.

A marketplace is just that. eBay will try to leverage it for all its worth. Either start branding now or kowtow to the whims and vicissitudes of marketplaces.

Re: Ebay-The Final End of a Giant

I agree, ebay has gone from customer service to pleasing seller and not giving a care about customer. of course it dying i will help it die by not doing business with many seller that are rude, block you for having an opinion treating us like trash. this is unacceptable

who pay seller and ebay. us the buyer..  because they bite the hand that feed them.. they are not going to last..  ebay and it seller are at war with us buyer who see us nothing more then cash flows.. we are fed up with overprice, seller blaming buyer for their problem.

we buyer need to get together and come up with a plan to put them out of business for good because they dont listen. they think we dont matter and can just squat us like flies.. we will them wrong soon. mistreating buyer is a mistake and they will pay dearly for this. me and a friend will talk about it today to deal with this madness.

due to their arrogance, this make us unhappy and even spiteful. just look at the review for ebay at many site. it get worse everyday proof that ebay is a disaster.. soon to be history like intel. amd is winning. ebay no longer allow buyer to claim not as describe so seller can get away with anything now a day. buying is now risky and not worth it.

Good bye ebay.. i will be looking elsewhere to do business. seller maybe laughing now but who will get the last laugh? we need to stop being so nice and be aggressive.. these seller are monster. many of them.

Re: Ebay-The Final End of a Giant

One more thing, seller if you are reading. who pay you to pay ebay. that right. us.

why do you treat us like cows and not as friends?

seller if you dont have a guaranteed and just want our money something is not right

you dont have our trust. so it more like a donation when you buy stuff not a business practice.. which is sub standard. hence why it will not last.. the love of money is the root of all evil. the more greedy the seller the less they care about us as a customer. that why.

ebay is going to die soon

i and others who as buyer will have the last laugh. in the near future.

lol

Re: Ebay-The Final End of a Giant

Ebay does not sell anything,   it gets it's money from fees.    OMG....they made money from fees.      They did better than Amazon who did not show losses from countries like India,  to post good numbers.

There is not a platform around that has the type of customer service you describe.

On line does not need to try to dominate B & M,  they already have.

Research...well Google is not your friend.
