I have been selling and buying on Ebay for Decades and whenever I Need an item By a Specific Date I buy items with a 'Guaranteed Delivery' on the listing. I purchased an item I NEEDED by a certain date and when that item didn't arrive I called Ebay. I was on the phone for close to an hour and the first CSR Agreed that my item didn't arrive By The Guaranteed Date but he didn't know how to put the voucher on my account I offered to email him a screen shot of the Original Purchase with the Date On It but he said he didn't need it because he could see the original date. While we waited for a Supervisor he informed me the Seller Had Updated the delivery and the Guaranteed Delivery Date was now changed. I finally spoke to a supervisor and she had me Refresh My Purchases. Once I refreshed my purchases the Original Guaranteed Delivery Date WAS GONE! The new one was now there! So the supervisor said "I can see the date is today" Are you kidding me! I am so **bleep**. Has ANYONE Else ever had Ebay do this to them. I am taking my Thousands of dollars a year to another platform because I hate liars and deceivers

Guaranteed delivery dates are based on the seller's average delivery time and usually a same day or 1 day handling time. During regular times. It could change the date if you purchased an item from a seller after the post office business hours in their time zone.
Because of the recent uptick of the number of Covid cases around the country, many packages are received at a facility, that gets shut down for a day or so for cleaning, causing delays. No one has control over that.
eBay's tracking info is incomplete and delayed because it is operated by Pitney Bowes. If you add a tracking number to the shipper's site you should get more detailed and timely reports. You may find an item arrived at a facility but has not been processed out of it. Add to the Covid related issues, the fact that online Christmas shopping started early this year, so carriers are carrying a heavier load than in normal times. Last night my carrier didn't deliver / pick up until 7:30 pm. They usually get here between 2-4:30pm.

Hard to when places get shut down for covid... I'm shocked they don't get rid of it til covid is controlled.

COVID, USPS meltdown, and COVID! They cannot quarentee these items will get there on time unless you rent your own jet and fly them there yourself.

The world is in the middle of a deadly pandemic.
It is now the holiday season and many people that would normally get together are opting to just send gifts instead which will affect delivery all over the world.
Post offices in some cities could be running with reduced staff due to the virus.
Plus having to stop and wash hands and sanitize work stations often does take time and slow things down.
This is our world now.
If something is really time sensitive to you perhaps you shouldn’t wait until the normal time you would order it. Just order in quite a bit farther in advance so you will get it by the date you need it.
We all have to adjust.

"I have been selling and buying on Ebay for Decades and whenever I Need an item By a Specific Date I buy items with a 'Guaranteed Delivery' on the listing."
The Guaranteed Delivery Date has nothing to do with the Estimated Delivery Date on the order. The EDD is what you should refer to if you need something by a certain date.
The Guaranteed Delivery Date is a gimmick (an eBay voucher, or something), and I hear it's not working very well anyway. Don't waste time with C/S on that... use the time to find an item with an Estimated Delivery Date that you can live with. Good luck.

It was a silly idea in the first place. Unless it's over night express, they don't warranty delivery time. And now it's even worse with Covid-19 going viral.
