Ebay NEW payment system is HORRIBLE... We buy A LOT of items and in our PayPal it ONLY shows "Ebay retail" , deducted amount, and some random order number and if you open details it will give you some more stupid number and a real LONG invoice number.. DOESN'T TELL YOU WHAT YOU BOUGHT AND WHO DID YOU BUY FROM.
Ebay... these numbers are MEANINGLESS to me as a buyer... You need to add details as where did my funds go to. VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PURCHASES...
"Order Number : 09-05207-67492"
"Transaction ID 3C617921P9060243D"
"Invoice ID v2_fe7ecac5-33eb-48e6-b75e-a88be467fd91_2_7"

@warehouse1009 REALLY appreciate you posting your displeasure as a Buyer with eBay's new payment system. Imagine how Sellers feel being forced (no option to opt out or stay with PayPal as the payment processor) in to a more complicated system with less detailed support. The sad truth is that the change is all about eBay and not their Buyers or Sellers ... despite being told otherwise ...

If you opted in to ebay's managed payment system I guess that is all you will see is the order numbers. If you are usng PayPal's app, you may be seeing less information. I still login the classsic way and see what was purchased ebay's order number as well as PayPal's transaction number. When you check out you should be able to still pay using PayPal, but you have to click on a button to be taken to be shown the PayPal button.

You can find a record of what and from whom you bought an item by going to "My eBay" >> "Purchase History."
I've never used PayPal to monitor my eBay purchases the entire time I've used PayPal to make purchases--from any online retailer--and I pay with PayPal on dozens of retail sites. Using your My eBay/Purchase History works just as well, if you're not pleased with the transaction record on PayPal.
There's always more than one way to accomplish the same outcome.

I really hear what you are saying... and probably won't make any difference if you buy few items a month but when you see 30 - 40 deductions on your P/P and you don't even know what are they for doesn't that bother you? It bothers me... What if instead of 40 you have "extra" or "double" charges / deduction? There's no way to figure out what these deductions are for... other than these useless long a$$ numbers you don't have anything to go with...

Does the Order Number stated in your Paypal payment details match the Order Number assigned to your eBay purchase?
If so you can use the order number to match it to your eBay purchase.

Yeah. But it's inconvenient and annoying ... I need to go back and forth to cross match these numbers below? That's ridiculous... With absolutely nothing else... Why Ebay can't make the SELLER NAME, ITEM NUMBER and DESCRIPTION part of the transaction. That gives me more than these meaningless numbers below...
"Order Number : 09-05207-67492"
"Transaction ID 3C617921P9060243D"

Do you still get a printable invoice from the "view order details" page on eBay?

What you say is true, unless. What if the item has been removed by ebay after you paid for it? On ebay, all trace of the item goes poof. But the record is still there in paypal. Only now the paypal record doesn't tell you squat.

I UNDERSTAND YOU CAN DO THAT... BUT MY MONEY IS NOT IN EBAY, IT'S IN PAYPAL AND WHEN MY MONEY COMES OUT OF PAYPAL I WANT TO KNOW WHERE DID IT GO TO...

"Using your My eBay/Purchase History works just as well
NO, IT DOES NOT... IF I PURCHASE 60 ITEMS AND MY PAYPAL IS CHARGED 120 TIMES I WOULDN'T KNOW WHERE MY MONEY WENT TO... IT JUST DOESN'T SHOW WHERE MY MONEY WENT TO...

AND WHEN I OPEN THE DETAILS, THIS APPEARS WHICH IS MEANINGLESS...

No, because I get emails from whatever website I've purchased from listing exactly what I bought, how much it cost, and what the tax and shipping were. I have an entire folder in my email dedicated specifically to online purchases. When I buy something, I put the confirmation email in there so it's easy for me to look up any given purchase that I've made.
I've always found going by the PayPal transaction data to be generally useless because often times a place's PayPal name won't match the actual name of the store/website, etc. For instance, when I buy more points for my crane game app (which is called Toreba), the purchase shows up in PayPal as going to Cyberstep, Inc. because that is the company that owns the app. If I didn't know that, I wouldn't have any idea what all of these PayPal charges to Cyberstep, Inc. were, because nowhere on the transaction does it mention Toreba.

Yuzuha, a question for you... if you don't check PayPal, how would you know if just for an example any one charge is double charged or triple charged ?? You wouldn't even know that since you don't go to PayPal...
