EBAY Shipping restriction on items being shipped to Canada

I purchased an item from a US seller and he/she had to cancel my order because shipping to Canada is not allowed due to the  Canada Postal Strike.   The strike ended in December.  It is my understanding that Canada has today lifted their restriction and now allows goods to enter Canada from the US.  I would like to know how long EBAY will take to lift this restriction? (The seller has agreed to hold the item for me however I don't want him/her to repost it and then be forced to cancel my order when he received the shipping restriction message when completing the shipping info screen.)  How will I know when EBAY has completed system change(s) to allow for shipping to Canada?

Unless you are a seller I don't know how eBay will let buyers know, unless they post an announcement.

As of right now eBay is not allowing sellers to purchase shipping labels addressed to buyers in Canada.  USPS has resumed shipping to Canada. When eBay will get in line with what's going on is anyone's guess.

Reply to the message from the buyer and tell them that the strike ended last month, and ebay is just behind in removing the messages.

I saw a banner that today USPS has resumed shipping to Canada so eBay, though still is behind, resumption did not start last month when the strike ended 😊.

I don't see why it can't be shipping through the post office without an eBay shipping label.

No telling when artificial intelligence will know when to lift the ban.

I was told by Ebay that the USPS was not letting them sell labels still due to all the backlog in the system. This was about a week ago and they said it would be 2 more weeks. What I did was to cancel the sale, list it in another category that would allow EIS shipping as they were not impacted by this. If your seller will not sell using this service they are not very smart as it has way more protection for both buyer and seller. My issue was that my item was listed in a category that would not allow it so I had to switch it for the one buyer.

I am holding items that customers from canada has purchased and I am waiting to ship. As of today USPS has lifted the shipping restriction but ebay still wont let me purchase a label, i have tried several times throughout the day. I am just giving it until tomorrow to see if I can purchase a label through ebay and if not I will be purchasing directly from USPS and just upload my tracking number, that easy.  I will not wait any longer for ebay to get with the program as my customers have been very patient and understanding during this strike!

Thank you! If they don't life it soon, I will have to have it shipped to the US (friend). Alternately I will ask the seller if he would mind shipping it directly from USPS as opposed to via EBAY.  I know that they have to make a system change to remove the flag but they really should have been ready to remove the flag within a very short time frame.

It has been lifted from ebay from what I see today, it will allow your seller to purchase a label and get it out to you now if they havent went and purchased one from the post office.  I did mine after USPS lifted it through the USPS website click and ship and it even prints the customs declaration as to not further delay my customers!
