Dollar-xhop

Seller sent me someone else's tracking number so it showed up that my package was delivered when it was not.  Seller used FedEx to ship to my p.o box but FedEx does not ship to p.o boxes.  I got a picture sent from FedEx with a 19lb box dropped off at a trailer park.  My package weighed less than a half pound. Seller told ebay my package was delivered. The tracking number was the only thing I recieved but it was somebody else's tracking number.  I opened a case and ebay said the seller provided proof it was delivered so they closed the case.  I had proof that it wasn't my package,  my   address or even my tracking number but ebay did not allow me to show my proof.  The seller is a scammer, liar and a thief.  Why does ebay allow this to happen? On top of all this,  they would not allow me to leave feedback!

Re: Dollar-xhop

Did you leave feedback and it got deleted due to maybe nasty language? eBay or the seller can delete it.

You can go online and dispute the charge with the credit card or debit card you used for payment. It got delivered to another address than yours...Refund in about 2 weeks.

Need to have a documentation photo of some sorts to submit it which is rather easy to do...from an iPhone or computer or inbox of emails....but be very polite and businesslike when typing out the problem.

Re: Dollar-xhop

Okay, thanks! I didn't use any nasty or vulgar language. I have the photo taken by FedEx. I ordered a tiny package weighing less than a half pound and the tracking number given to me matched a 19lb package delivered to a trailer park and I always use a p.o box! The packaged looked as if it were delivered, it just wasn't my package or my address but it matched the tracking number so it looks like it was delivered. It was only $8 however it's still not right! Thank you for the information!

Re: Dollar-xhop

@nialc_22,

Please just use 1 username when posting on these boards so you do not confuse people.

When you file an item not received (INR)  dispute on ebay,  a computer looks at the tracking information but it can only detect the Delivered scan,  and no other information, because of sipping agencies privacy policies.

If the delivered scan is from an address not in your zip code.  When you received the message telling you that eBay closed its case, there should be an Appeal button in it.  Click on it, Write out what happened, and state the zip code for the delivered scan is not the same as the one on your order details, and to note that a 19lb item was what was delivered when you should only have received  a much lighter weight package.  Open the listing from your purchase history, and click on the Shipping, returns and payments tab. when that info is displayed look for the shipping service the seller was supposed to use. If it was a USPS one, not FedEx add that info to the message as well.

  Then add a screen shot of the tracking information to the message.  Appeals are looked at by a person not a computer, who will compare the zip code on your order details to the one on the tracking info, and over turn the original decision issuing a refund.

If the package was delivered in your zip code, you will have to do some leg work to appeal the decision.

  You will have to go to your P.O. or  a local UPS or FedEx store.  You need to bring a copy of your order details page which shows your address and the tracking number with you. If you bought using a phone or tablet, you can bring that to show the clerk the order details. In the case of FedEx and UPS, if you can call them first and get them to send you an email saying the label's address does not match yours. bring a copy of that or your device with the email, with you to one of their stores. eBay will not accept an email as proof, because emails can be faked.

  You want to ask the clerk to check the label address against yours on the order details page, and also to check the Package type/size/weight info to see if was is appropriate for what you should have received. .   If the info does not match up, you ask the clerk to write a note on Company stationary saying in general that the shipping label's address was not yours, and if applicable that the package type/size/weight was not right for what you should have received. Show them a copy of the email, which may get the clerk to agree to writing the note. Explain that ebay doesn't accept emails. Do not ask them to write specific address or package info, they cannot give it out.  Have the clerk print their name then sign and date the note.

  Once you have the note, you can appeal the dispute ruling, if you have lost an appeal already, you contact ebay through their Facebook or Instagram social media pages. (links below) You can write out what happened in the message, and what you found out, and add a CLEAR photo or a scan of the note to an Appeal or message.  If you go the social media route which is recommended, but not always necessary, if you get the info before filing an appeal.   The social media reps know about the fake tracking scams and can authorize a refund, but you will need to have the seller's username and the ebay item number. At the end of your message give them your real and ebay username.  It can take a couple of days before you get a reply.

   In the future I strongly suggest that you check the feedback profile pages of each seller you intend to buy from, before bidding on or buying their items.  You can access a seller's feedback profile page from near the bottom of listing pages. Use the See All Feedback  button below where their name is in a large font.  On the profile page if the seller has received neutral or negative feedback, click on the numbers of them to read only those comments. Never go by a feedback percentage alone. Some people who have been scammed but did not file a dispute may have left feedback saying they never received their items.

FYI.  Since you have packages delivered to a P.O. box.  FedEx will deliver to the P.O. if you use your P.O.'s street address then write your box number under it. You can add that address to your accounts, Addresses list, and select it at check out when you see that a seller ships with FedEx. Do not make it your primary one or it could confuse some clerks or carriers.

Re: Dollar-xhop

I appreciate the information. I don't know how I used another user name. About a year ago before I became a member of eBay I used this username but then I joined eBay and started a actual profile which I have been using ever since  so I have no clue how this happened. Definitely didn't intentionally do it. I looked at her feedback after the fact and she has neutral feedback with negative comments! Two people said their package never showed up but said delivered. Thankfully my order was only $8. I'm sure it will eventually catch up to her. It wouldn't allow me to leave feedback which is the real bummer. Thanks again!

Re: Dollar-xhop

@nickalc_46@nialc_22 ,

You were not able to leave feedback, because you lost the initial INR dispute. The feedback comments you saw on the seller's profile, were probably left by buyers who never opened a dispute. As I have written a million times, Always check a feedback profile page and click on the numbers of neutral and negative feedback a seller has received.  When I do that as a general rule I take half of the numbers of neutrals add them to the negatives and recalculate the seller's feedback percentage based on that number.

Re: Dollar-xhop

Thank you! Yes, I've starting looking into the sellers a lot more now. Every time I buy from someone I learn something new. I look to see what carrier they use because she used fedex and I asked the postal worker about that and she said fedex will usually not deliver to a post office. The seller should know that. I'm learning. Lol. Thanks for the advice and the input! 👍

Not usually, unless FedEx knows which Post Office has that PO Box.

Re: Dollar-xhop

The postal worker that told you that FedEx doesn't usually deliver to post offices isn't  entirely true. FedEx Smart Post  will deliver to a PO Box address. They deliver it to the post office and then USPS completes the last leg of the delivery by putting the package in your PO Box.

Re: Dollar-xhop

Illegally parked fedex! 😆  Right,  like maybe putting the address of the post office! I figured out how to see if the seller uses usps or fedex, so that was pretty helpful.  Thanks!

Re: Dollar-xhop

Thanks everyone! Ebay issued me a one time courtesy refund. It should've been the seller paying back the refund. Even though I was issued a full refund, the buyer is still able to continue to scam people and I hate that for other victims, but I could only do so much.
