With the new best offer system that autopays upon the seller accepting, is there any way to receive an invoice with combined shipping when purchasing multiple items through offers?
I usually purchase multiple items at a time and this new system slows me down a lot and results in multiple smaller charges on my account rather than one. It also prevents the seller from being able to send me an invoice after accepting and they've had to send refunds for the combined shipping discount. Is there a way to go around the autopay or bypass it? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

No. It is one of the drawbacks of the new plan. Sellers can refund the difference if they combine items for one parcel, but they don't have to . Best check with the seller first. They cannot send you a revised invoice since you have already paid.
Be advised as well, that if a seller does refund the difference, they are still charged fees on your original payment plus the thirty cents for each transaction.

The brain trust at ebay didn't THIMK this one through when they made the change to the auto pay system. If a seller you have received offers from is not a very high volume one, you could try contacting them before accepting the offers and write something like:
"I have received offers on items (post their titles and item numbers). I would like to buy them and get combined shipping. However, because of ebay's auto pay on offers, there is no way for you to invoice me. Can I commit to buy the items from their listings at full price, and have you send me an invoice with the 5% discount applied as well as combined shipping"?
I would think an experienced seller would understand that in the long run that would save them some money since they do not lose the already paid fees when refunding.

I am a not very experienced seller a d just received a multi item best offer, but the offer only shows the the price(4x) + shipping cost of just one of the items. If you have made purchases this way, were you charged for the individual shipping cost x 4 or just the original one item shipping cost? I would assume it allows to be recalculated for the new weight and box size, but who knows. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know this is an older thread, but eBay has now set it up for a seller to remove this restriction if they wish.
You can ask your seller if they will change it for you to purchase more items - eBay has not really announced much of this to seller's so you may need to help your seller a little, this is how they can do it:
It is on the Buyer Management page
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Scroll down to the bottom and there is a section:
Buyer Payment Requirements
There is a checkbox for:
Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer. This can be unticked.
