Hello everyone,
Is anyone else having issues with completing purchases of Vehicles? Every time I try I keep getting "There was a problem connecting to Caramel, please try again." and it's been persisting for two days now. Support isn't sure what to do about it.

Typical of ebay they set up a new payment option button, before actually having it ready to go.
eBay would not have bought the company if they did not feel it was a safe method of payment. They want their cut of the transaction fees after all.
Your problem with being able to pay may have something to do with you being a newly registered member. All new members have a limit on how much they can spend at first. the link below explains the Limits and how to deal with them.

Before buying a vehicle on ebay, you should red the terms of their Vehicle Protection Program (VPP) and make sure what you are buying is covered by it.

If you found the listing for the car on Market Place, Craig's List or other site, there's a strong possibility of the listing being a scam. eBay does not have holding facilities, ship cars for free, or give a five day inspection time frame . If asked to buy ebay gift cards, end any conversation with the person. It is a scam.

This could be something that is only available to dealers not to individuals selling cars/trucks on eBay? If so, could be why the OP is having issues with the transaction.
"With eBay Secure Checkout, sellers and buyers are verified, paperwork is automated, title transfer and registration are handled, and funds are securely transferred from buyer to seller. Buyers also have the option to add financing, delivery, vehicle protection, & insurance in a tap or click. eBay Secure Checkout is powered by Caramel Dealer Services, LLC, an eBay subsidiary."
Note what I highlighted. Quick read through, sounds like things that a dealer would be able to handle in the normal day to day operation not something an individual non business seller would be able to handle. Not sure how this would all work in all 50 states? Are they approved to do VIN inspections when transferring from one state to another for all states? What about if the state/area requires smog inspection? Some of these things could still require a trip to the DMV.
Is this approved in all 50 states because of different state requirements, which could be another roadblock.

Dang. It kinda reads like what the eBay gift card-scammed posters (fb/cl) claim they were offered. Oh, my. 😑
