Cancellation on seller's part and items not received

As a long time buyer on ebay, I was surprised to have these three occurrences in 15 days.   The cancellation was due to my being the sole bidder on an item, so the item sold for the bare minimum.  I blame that on the seller for not setting the minimum bid higher.  I had bid much higher but no other bids were made.   I paid immediately and they made an excuse for not sending the item out and then cancelled for out of stock.  That is a mark on their record, so not my problem.  I did  not leave a neg for this seller because their actions did more harm to them then a neg could.

The next 2 items were listed as buy it now.  The items were purchased.  I waited and there was no tracking or messages by the date of eta.  The day after I contacted both sellers and still no response.  So I opened cases the first day possible, for item not received.   It just make me wonder if it is possible the sellers are sick or even alive?  I was refunded in both cases.   I did not bother to leave negs as it may be something completely out of their control.

I was just wondering if others here had more inrs then usual?

Unfortunately until an item is actually in your hands, you really don't know if you acquired it.

Perhaps eBay may someday do more to discourage seller failure to complete a transaction.

Hope you some good eBay buying experiences in future.

Why would you open "item not as described" case for an item you did not receive? You have no way of knowing if the item is not as described until you receive it. You should have opened "item not received".

Re: Cancellation on seller's part and items not received

Just to be honest 99.9% of the sellers I purchase from are excellent.   It is just strange to have these occur so close together.  I do not like being inconvenienced by opening cases and have a hold on my funds.   I do not leave negs, I just leave nothing and move on.  I figure the loss is on the seller.
