I can't find a straight answer. I was charged $5.50 for a code sent via email. I was never charged this "shipping" fee before for the same product from the same seller. Just curious what the rules, if any, are on sellers charging for this sort of thing.
PS. I didn't notice the new shipping fee when checking out.

1. The number of feedback of a seller is besides the point and doesn't answer my question.
2. No one said I did have to pay. Again: that doesn't answer my question.
3. I know EXACTLY what I paid for... and you don't.. or you wouldn't have posted that screenshot. And yet again: that doesn't answer my question.
To answer your question, there's nothing saying they can't charge shipping for a digital item.

Only preapproved sellers can list digitally delivered items.

They might not have even been allowed to sell items like that. Requires extra eBay approval. Many also don't have the right to sell the codes. The shipping would have been shown on the listing. Got to read those listings with great care.

Ask the seller to refund the shipping cost.

Does anyone know is sellers are allowed to charge shipping to send pins/codes via email or eBay messaging?

My guess is it is a handling fee not a shipping fee charge.

If it's the seller for whom you left feedback, considering that he's sold over 36,000 of the item you bought and charges shipping, I think they're allowed to do it.
You didn't have to buy from him if you didn't like paying for shipping.
As for the second part of your fb comment, "only credited with 3 GB a month," according to the listing, this is what shows:

does not appear to be listed as a "digitally received" item.

I do believe that GSMA is supposed to be 5

Let me try once more...
Does anyone know if sellers are allowed to charge shipping to send pins/codes via email or eBay messaging?
AI says it's not permitted. Some people on Reddit say it's not permitted, some people say it is. I can't seem to find any info regarding the topic anywhere in the eBay sellers rules/requirements, etc.

of course they can because you bought it. if you didn't want to do it you didn't have to buy it.

but you paid for it so the transaction is over. so you already know they can do it because you were a party in the situation.
