Dear all:
Hello! I tried to post this question on another discussion board but was not successful. I don’t have access to. I hope someone can address my question since I can’t find a conclusive answer online.
I am wondering, If I buy using credit card, can EBay sellers see my billing address? The billing address is different than my mailing address.
How about if I pay using PayPal?
May someone answer please, thank you!

ebay sellers cans see the ebay order details....................
if you pay with paypal the they will probably only see the shipping address with paypal
I do not think that sellers can see your billing address
ebay has 5 different address sections that can be used.each one has its own function.
that information is not shown to sellers .only the address on the order page

Hello! Just wondering, when you mean address on the order page, do you mean the shipping address?

All sellers see is the address the buyer wants the item shipped to AND if the buyer uses PayPal there is a shipping address there also.
No other addresses are given to sellers

Nope, just the shipping address. However, beware that Ebay has like 5 different address fields. Be sure you're using the one you want in each of the fields.

Hello! Sorry, I don’t quite get what you mean. Can you elaborate, e.g. in which area do buyers see five different address fields? Thanks.

ebay sellers DON"T get your real name, your billing address or physical address, or any of your credit card information. Without your credit card number they are not able to verify with credit card companies (Visa, Mastercard, or Amex) if you are the person to whom the credit card was issued to.
The very first question credit card companies (CCC) would ask the sellers in cases of chargebacks is "Did you ship to the buyer's credit card billing address." CCC don't go after eBay, which is considered just the provider of the venue, not as the merchant. The merchant is the seller. But eBay allows buyers to edit the ship to address on the checkout page, even the recipient's name. And this is the main reason why most lose their chargeback cases for unauthorized use charge.
My question to you is "Why are you concerned about giving your billing address?" Everytime you use your credit card at a brick and mortar store your information is collected and possibly sold to their affliates and the affliates's affliates. They may not ask for your ID but they got you on hidden cameras. Want to try using a credit card without the permission of rightful owner?
