Hello all, I just today bought a scam listing shipping from Pakistan. The listing uses photos stolen from other, legitimate listings on the platform. The seller denied my cancellation request. What can I do here? I tried reaching out to eBay support on twitter but have been seemingly overlooked. It's for the tune of $488 and I really can't afford to lose that.
Edit: Currently talking with support on twitter.

The one thing you have to watch out for is the fake tracking number scam. If the tracking shows delivered but nothing came, do NOT file an item not received case. You will lose. Instead, file an item not as described case.
Did you pay by credit card? If so you can file a charge back if you lose with eBay's protection.
Why would you buy such an expensive item from there? They may be busy with a nuclear war with India soon.

Right now, not much you can do until a day after the estimated delivery date.

I paid with paypal. I do not have a credit card yet. May I ask the difference between an INR and INAD in this case? I mean obviously if it shows delivered it will default to a win for them with INR. How should I posture the INAD in this situation? Buying it from there was unintentional. Monkey brain had thought it was in the U.S. but obviously this is not the case.

At least in this case, that's may 22nd at the latest. How would I handle a claim in that situation, if you don't mind me asking.

Well if nothing arrives by that date file the normal Item Not Received case..
If you get the fake tracking that shows something delivered , somewhere but not to you, you can do a search on this forum for details on how to handle it.
It will require some work on your part. Sadly, it's happened a lot so there are ways to deal with it.
Don't get discouraged yet, people are allowed to use photos of other sellers so unless it's a "one of" item, they may ship it or drop ship it..
Hopefully you will get your order. If not you can come back and ask for help dealing with it. BEFORE taking action.

If you don't receive the item by May 23, go to the item in your purchase history and click 'I didn't receive it' under More actions.
If you receive something that doesn't match the description, go to your purchase history, click Return under More actions, and select that the item doesn't match the description as the reason.

You just file an item not as described case. The seller won't foot the bill for a return label and if they did, send back anything. INAD is a not as described case. It's correct as fake tracking number scammers would not send the actual item to some other address. They send some worthless item.
As stated you will have to wait and see what happens next. Come back here and let us know before you do anything.

INR: Item not received. When the item is not received by the estimated due date as seen in the listing, the buyer has 30 days to open an item not received case, per the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
NAD: Item is not as described. When it does arrive, but is not as described, the buyer has 30 days to open an item not as described case, per the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
After that case is opened by you, your seller has 3 days to respond. His response can be: a) to send you the postage to return the item . Due to his location, he can't send a prepaid shipping label. Or he can b) refund you and tell you to keep the item Or c) he can fail to respond in which case you can ask eBay to step in. They will refund and tell you to keep it.
Since you will need to wait til that EDD before doing anything, may I suggest reading the MBG which explains the protection eBay offers if/when a transaction goes wrong. I might add: Always check the seller's FB record as well as his location before ordering.

Alrighty, the package has been marked as delivered. Obviously, no item has been received. Tracking number originated from my state. Marked as delivered at 12:49 PM on my front porch, which didn't happen. I have the date and time of like 5 packages legitimately being delivered to my address at 4:09 P.M. Any suggestions?

Yes...
Fake tracking number scam.
Detailed info on how to fight that on this link https://community.ebay.com/t5/Buying/Sketchy-seller-scamming/m-p/35050675
It takes a bit of effort but you can get refunded.

Thank you. I am reading Mudshark's reply on another post as well that talks about getting a memo from a post worker that confirms the package was delivered to an address that was not mine and that it does not weigh what a package like mine should weigh. If this were you, would you also get that to strengthen the case? Or would you just go the USPS email route as described in the topic you linked.

YES! Absolutely..
Mudshark gives excellent advice..
Gather everything you can and contact eBay on their social media.
They are familiar with this scam and should know how to assist you.
Make sure to send them a message not a post.

Even with supporting information, the twitter support is still insisting I go through the INR process. I am not really sure what to do. The twitter support says they will be on my side if the appeal through ebay fails and that usually all they require is a contradictory statement from the post office on my behalf (Which I did get and send). Basically they just want me to go through due process first. What is everyone's experience with this, if you have any?

Well, I suppose go ahead and do that.
If you have that letter from the PO upload it into the case.
The problem is, you will need to get eyes on it because the bots will side against you due to the tracking. If it sides against you APPEAL and maybe jump on chat and have a rep look at it.
If that fails then it's back to social media.. SIGH
