Blocked Buyer

This vendor has blocked me from bidding for no reason.

I am a long time Ebay customer with a perfect record.

I would have paid more than the highest bid (sold) amount.

No response from vendor.

As long as you only buy on ebay, you will have a 100% rating, since buyers cannot receive negative feedback.  That rating is shared by non payers and scammers.   Sellers judge you by the feedback you leave others. Since you have made your feedback private, many sellers will take that as a warning that you have something to hide.

Some sellers also worry about buyers who ask a lot of questions, especially if they can be interpreted as questioning the seller's honesty.  So they will block them to avoid issues.

They did you a favor. Why would you want to do business with them? Move on and find someone else offering the item you are searching for.

This is really strange! It seems that something went wrong and you should be patient, as such an opportunity would not be missed by a seller as you are an ideal eBay customer and want to make the highest bid price, I hope your problem is solved as soon as possible.

Sellers are allowed to block anyone for any reason or no reason at all. And once they block you it blocks all communications from you, so the seller isn't seeing your messages. All you can do is move on and find a seller who wants your business.

A lot of sellers are nervous about buyers with private feedback.

It's probably because of you having private feedback. I'm ALWAYS weary of buyers with private.

My worst experience was when I first started selling and sold an item to a buyer with private. Yep, gotta neg and when I searched the username on the ole bb site they had hundreds of complaints against them. They were hands down the worst people I've EVER encountered.

I am a seller and my sales have dropped dramatically. I even noticed my usable customers are no longer bidding on my items. I do not have any buyers that are blocked. I received a message today from one of my regular customers stating that they were being blocked from my listings. They're unable to bid on any of my auctions. I have called eBay to investigate.

They're boat brokers. Maybe the boat owner changed their mind. Maybe you live too far away from where the boat is located and they think it's not worth the trip and it's pickup only. Maybe they don't sell to buyers with private feedback. Maybe they block bidders with unpaid strikes and you have a few. I have no idea why the seller blocked you. Move on.

Try turning off the auto-pay settings in your buyer requirements. That is probably what they meant.

I don't buy from any seller that requires a payment to bid or send offers.

No, that wouldn't be it. I turned off that setting as soon as eBay started using that feature. That is an awful feature eBay has.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe they have 2 unpaid strikes blocking them. Try adding them to your exclusion list.

The weird thing is if they're blocked I thought they can't message you also
