Bid erased

I have noticed on at least two different auctions that as I tried to bid on an item the bid was instantly deleted character by character. I missed out on that first auction. For the second one I had opened multiple windows with amount pre-entered to improve my chances of success. At the last seconds, my bid in the original screen was deleted but I quickly swiped to the other screens and I was able to enter my winning bid. Seems like there's a virus or some kind of hack tool that is erasing the bids.

Sounds like the seller canceled your bids, many sellers dont like low feedback buyers who they think are 'newbies'.

Are you bidding from the item's bid history page?

The reason I ask is that I have seen other users indicate that they have had issues entering a bid amount using the bid entry field specifically on that page, where numbers entered into the field disappear.

If that sounds like what is happening to you, try bidding instead from the item listing page itself, rather than the bid history page. The actual mechanics of bidding are the same on each page, but the item listing bid entry field apparently does not suffer from the bid amount clearing bug.
