Another victim of "Issue with buyer's shipping address"

This happened twice in last 2 weeks. Buyers couldn't fulfill the order and yet cancelled due to "Issue with buyer's shipping address" I live in US and both sellers are also in US

One seller said he could not find the remote - order is incomplete due to their fault. Another seller, my guess is that price didn't meet their reserve.

After so many biddings and winning, this is unacceptable. Sellers have absolutely no consequences as I cannot leave any negative feedbacks. eBay needs to tighten this part for better buying experience. When was the last time Amazon cancelled because of issue with shipping address??

Why don't  you report the sellers?

@max_rj

"Issue with buyer's shipping address"  is one of the reasons that sellers will NOT suffer consequences for an out of stock defect.  Though I am sure it is misused the same as "buyer requested to cancel" the former is often suggested by eBay to sellers for other reasons as well as a"catch all" reason.

For example, last week many sellers found previously sold and/or sold out items suddenly auto resuurected by eBay with no input from the seller at all. Quantities were also increased often by hundreds for products that were no longer available, and have not been available for months.   These items SOLD again, leaving the sellers vulnerable for multiple  out of stock defects that could conceivably have their selling privileges ended permanently  by a bot action.

Not saying that this is the case for you, but sellers  that misuse that excuse to avoid out of stock defects will be shown the error of their ways eventually.  I would surmise that your complaint(s) may be handled differently for a while.

Yes, I have reported the sellers to eBay, however, it's not clear what consequences they will face. There should be a way to leave a negative feedback at least so other buyers are away of such shady transaction

You may be able to leave a feedback. Go to the your own feedback page and at the bottom, click on leave feedback.  If that transaction comes up, you can leave feedback.

No, for my case, the listings did not have multiple units - a single unique item (an amplifier and a receiver vintage stereo equipment). I'm okay if the seller cancelled due to "Out of stock or damaged" but I'm not okay seller blaming on my address which is a lie as I've never had any issue with any of the carriers. Auction sale should be final and both parties should take this seriously. There should be some negative consequences (negative review at least) for breaking the contract. Otherwise, this eBay is just waste of time

eBay's "Top Rated Sellers" are notorious for doing this and ebay does nothing to them.

To be fare, the buying experience has been much improved over the years. eBay used to be heavily infested with low quality overseas (outside of US) items and it was quite difficult to search for items I wanted. I was shied away from using it unless absolutely needed. And today, search/notifications are much better. If eBay can tighten transaction a bit, it will become even better. I hope Mr. Jamie I. is reading this.

That's the funniest thing I heard all day. The exact opposite is true, ebays "buying experience" has been in a downward spiral over the years

Re: Another victim of "Issue with buyer's shipping address"

Hello eBay Community,

I wanted to bring attention to an issue I've encountered recently regarding the "Issue with buyer's shipping address" problem on eBay. Over the past two weeks, I've experienced this situation twice, where buyers couldn't fulfill the order and had to cancel due to address issues. It's worth noting that all parties involved, including myself and the sellers, are based in the United States.

In one instance, a seller admitted their mistake, stating that they couldn't find the remote, resulting in an incomplete order. In the other case, it seems likely that the seller canceled the order because the price didn't meet their reserve.

After participating in numerous bids and winning auctions, I find this situation highly frustrating. What concerns me the most is the lack of consequences for sellers in these scenarios. As buyers, we are currently unable to leave negative feedback related to such issues. I firmly believe that eBay needs to address this matter and implement measures to enhance the buying experience.

When we compare eBay to other platforms like Amazon, cancellations due to shipping address issues are a rarity. This discrepancy raises questions about the effectiveness of eBay's current systems and policies in ensuring a seamless and reliable buying experience.

I kindly request eBay to evaluate and strengthen this particular aspect of the platform. Introducing stricter guidelines for sellers and implementing measures to hold them accountable when such issues arise would be a significant step forward. Enhancing transparency and seller accountability will help build trust among buyers, leading to a better overall experience on the platform.

I would greatly appreciate hearing from fellow members of the community who may have encountered similar situations or have suggestions for how eBay can improve in this regard. By joining forces, we can work towards creating a more dependable and enjoyable buying environment.

Thank you for your attention.

I suggest you start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's with what appears to be copy pasted text.

Thanks for nicely rewording my post - yes, English is my second language - my first language is not even written in alphabet. Perhaps the intent of the rewrite is to get more attention from both eBay and consumers by conveying a clear message, so thanks for that!
