Additional page numbers (1-10) not showing at the bottom of a search.

So, I was browsing a for a specific search string on ebay(as one does) and at the bottom of the page there are no longer any additional pages listed. Usually at the bottom of a search page, you have a left arrow, a right arrow, and pages 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 listed. Now, the only thing I have at the bottom of the page is a button that says "load more". That's not how I browse through listing. It makes it very hard to keep track of what you are sifting through. Like give me listings 60 at a time. I don't want infinite scrolling where I am constantly having to click load more. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone have a work around? I don't know if I want to bother trying to shop like this, it's a huge pain. I really wish ebay would just fix all the bugs they have and quit screwing things up and changing things that aren't broken. It's infuriating.

Yep, same here. It's been replaced with a load more button at the bottom, but it doesn't even work right. It will work once, but then that button gets stuck with a blue spinning circle, and won't let you load more. Nice work on breaking things again ebay...

Same problem here,  followthedragon92.  I'm with you 100%. Read on.

 

Also, beefjerky's thread indicates another problem: at a certain point, the "load more" icon just spins that little blue wheel with no results.  Furthermore, if I dare try and "refresh" the webpage, the new search scrolling takes me all the way BACK to the BEGINNING of the search.  So I have to then scroll again until the search freezes. It's like the Sisyphus myth or a "Groundhog Day"-type hell!

 

I loved the search system where I could see 240 results on Page 1, then the next 240 results and so on. I like to look ahead at upcoming auctions 24 or 48 hours ahead, and the Page by Page system worked perfect.

 

I too don't want to "infinitely scroll" for my search results, especially when eBay's new scroll method won't even load all the results I want to see. I just called eBay's Help Line, and told them that this new scroll search result method will cost eBay money and customers: 1. Lost revenue because potential buyers are not getting the results they want, so they can't find more items to buy. Ebay loses fee revenue. 2.  If potential buyers find eBay's search system too slow or frustrating to use, they'll abandon their search or go to another platform, which will result in less sales (revenue) for eBay.

 

I told the Customer Service Rep all this, and all she could say was, "Wowwwww...." She understood the ramifications. She's reporting my complaint.

 

I also filled out another complaint using the "Tell Us What You Think" link on my search page.

 

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID EBAY WANTS FEEDBACK ON THIS, SO CALL AND MESSAGE AND CALL AGAIN!

 

I buy and sell on eBay, and this new scroll system is the worst aesthetic change I've seen eBay make in my 18 years on this platform. This is terrible!

 

Fix it, Ebay!

yes, i came here to see if others were having this issue.

 

i am searching from a seller with over 40,000 items.  i like to scroll through pages that are a few days out from the auction ending, such as page 75.  there is no way to do this with the "load more." i would never get to the listings that are not ending right away or just listed.  there is no way to just scroll and look at the 1000s of items in the middle.

 

infuriating, not user-friendly.  another very uncessary change that seems like it was not at all tested by actually buyers.

 

i also lament how this will hurt sellers with higher volumes of items.

 

change it back.

I'm using Firefox and my default display is set to the max, and I still have the page numbers.  This screenshot was taken about 2 minutes ago:

Most likely eBay is rolling out additional changes. I see page numbers once again on the pages that lacked them.

not sure if this is related or not - my pages came back today, but after going through many of them, i am met with this message:

 

"We're unable to show you more than 10,000 results. Please refine your search to narrow your results."

 

this means that i can only be shown 10K results and no more - which means that i am missing many of the items from my seller who has 40K+ items, and there is no way to get to them.

 

still frustrated. . .

This is not new, eBay has worked that way for many years. There is no way to see more than 10,000 results of any particular search/sort at one time. If your search returns more results than that, refine your search to provide fewer results so you can view them all.

 

You can divide the results of one big search into various exclusive smaller searches (such as by using non-overlapping price ranges, new/used, etc). Or view only the results listed in the last 24 hours, and then run the same search each day.

There are numerous ways to see a seller's items rather than by viewing them all at once in a single search. Try viewing by category to see each item the seller has in each category. If a single category has more than 10,000 results, use filters to divide the results further.
