Your US buyer should be able to order each book individually, by adding each book to the buyer's basket, and then clicking on a message on the screen that directs the buyer to request a combined shipment discount from the seller.
That invoice would then be sent to you by eBay, and you would just have to fill in any discounts and shipping charges, and then send it back to the buyer for payment.

Thanks so much! I’ll let him know about the shopping cart!

I've always put together a special listing for the customer, based on his inquiry--ending that auction and pricing the package as he wants. It's the easiest. You keep the offer you ended, change the title to exclusive for your buyer's screen name, and price it accordingly without offers accepted. Less than a minute. Including copying the listing location and emailing that to my customer.
If it falls through you can always relist the individual items, although it may impact your seller limits if you are at the upper limits of your tier. It has never happened to me.
Sometimes I've had to refund the difference: I do have a number of "choice" offers that people sometime don't follow directions.

The put the items in the cart and request invoice button does not always work.
Some have blamed the mobile app.
There is always the pay the full amount and refund option.
