return shipped to old address

First I shipped an item in good order, wrapped securely in a box and then bubble wrap. And it arrived safely.The customer claimed it broke when they wore it. ( I think they broke it but regardless...I have an automatic return policy) Now the item gets shipped back to a previous address, so I have not received it. I have purchased other items on ebay and they go to my current address and my address on record was my current address except for this return. I saw it and tried to contact ebay but this doesn't fit in their box as. an issue.

Its almost like Biden said the other night, the idea is to "break it and rob it". Why would ebay support this? 

I would like to know how to handle this. I don't have the item. While I dispute the reason for return I will honor it, but I didn't get it back because it wasn't sent to my current address but to a previous one. And my address on file is my current address.

Did you correct your return shipping address, not just your ship from address?

I have received other items back at my current address and the only address I have seen on file to ship from is my current address so why would ebay put my previous address? This is not the first return at this address, or ship from at this address. So I don't have the item and ebay put my previous address. Why would you do that?

I have received items returned at my current address. I entered my current address. I have no idea how to enter it that you / ebay has changed it. Why would ebay change it? I have received two returned items at my current address. I have purchased and received them at my current address and I have paid ebay fees from address at my current address.

How do I handle this? 

I went to the address that it was shipped at and the package was not there.
