losing money on shipping

Since the new policy this May 2024. I have been paying more for shipping than the buyer pays. How can I fix this?

Hi @zencogjax

Make sure you do NOT have the eBay discounted rates selected on this page in your Shipping preferences: Shipping discount settings (ebay.com)

eBay's discounted rates give the Buyers YOUR discount for purchasing labels through eBay BUT you still pay the Final Value Fees on what the Buyer paid ... it is a lose-lose situation in my view.

I NEVER use eBay's suggested package sizes because they have no idea what size a package will be.

I use Calculated shipping and generate the weight and package size for my listings.

You are doing something wrong when setting up shipping.  Would need more details and an example to help you fix it.

Re: losing money on shipping

I have been using the suggested package size and weights when I set up the listing. prior to the new update I would make 10% or more on shipping. Now Im loding the same amount.  Ive been on the platform for 20+ years and never have i had this issue.

Re: losing money on shipping

Never use any "suggested" amounts.  You need to weigh and measure your own packages.  Postage has gone up considerably over the years, so it is critical to accurately do this, if you don't want to risk losing money.
