i've always accepted returns. I'm now selling an item, in addition to my regular items, for which I cannot offer returns.  How do i make an exception to my normal return policy and make it known that buyers cannot return this one particular item?

That will not prevent buyers from being able to file a Return Request through Ebay's Money Back Guarantee.
