Re: help with ppl running up the price by bidding

We cannot see the IDs of bidders on your auctions (only you and that particular bidder can) AND it is against the rules of these forums to identify someone being accused of breaking the rules or other shady behavior.

What are some item numbers of auctions you think are being messed with, and WHY in particular do you think so?

Timestamps do NOT change (except on the mobile displays where they use "ago" times which is one of the things that make looking at them there worse than useless).   You are misinterpreting the bid history, most likely under the false impression that the bids are sorted by time instead of by amount.

@abstractjesse-9,

Why are you concerned about very low feedback number (  ) buyers, doing what newbies do, which is bid one increment at a time against one another?  We call that nibble bidding. You can click on their feedback number in (  ) to the right of their usernames to see their profile pages. If they have several bid retractions, then you can cancel their bids. to do that read the info in the link below.

As a not very experienced seller or buyer for that matter, you do not seem to realize that experienced bidders wait until late in an auction before bidding.  We do that to keep the nibblers from running up the prices.  Then we place one bid, for the most we are willing to pay for an item. Sometimes there will be a very short bid war in the last 10 seconds that increases the price appreciably.

Re: help with ppl running up the price by bidding

I’m talking about respect I believe it’s valid but e bay dose not yet have the tools to block people at an instant and so forth there’s 6 days left in a bid they run it up by 100’s of dollars? Do they not read before bidding?? Like really there’s an excuse for this it’s called by mistake really oh I’m just going to bid just because then after running it up 100’s of dollars I well retract my bid ? Geez people like that should be given a fine yes a fine because you know and I know it’s not right but if you want to make excuses for others then I see no point in trying to have a stable site for honest people who take things seriously and plus I don’t think it’s fair to the other bitters in the room who are actually serious about something and then they have to actually watch something rise to hundreds of dollars and then everything is retracted and it’s like we’re just happened I raise the bid because I don’t wanna lose it and now I’m out of money so to speak very disrespectful .
