ebay never response to my compaint about a sale

In November 2023, I received a purchased notice from ebay that my item was sold with the purchaser address for shipping.  I didn't use ebay label and paid $4.90 at the USPS .  Couple days later the item was returned and Post Office said the person didn't live there.  I sent messages twice to the buyer and no response from the buyer.  I complaint about buyer and ask ebay to pay me back the shipping cost and ebay never response.

What shall I do with unresponsive ebay?

You can not get reimbursed for the shipping.  You should refund the buyer for the item only - that way the buy has paid for the wasted shipping.

What do you mean by : you should refund the buyer for the item only? ebay never paid me a cent and I made a loss of $4.90 shipping an item to a seller that Post Office said he did not live there.  I sent the buyer messages twice and got no response.  ebay made the deal and gave me the shipping address and should be responsible for the shipping cost.  I guess the buyer is not with us anymore after he paid ebay for the purchase.  Any way, ebay is suck for not responding to my complaint. ebay took his money and didn't want tp pay me the shipping cost.

eBay will release the buyer's payment to you after the release date.  That would include the shipping.  So if you refund just the item price, you will not be out of pocket anything after eBay releases the payment.

You have to fund the refund. No one likes it, but that is how refunds work for all of us.

I did not receive any payment from ebay meaning ebay never release any payment to me that was the problem.  Obviously I would return the money paid (if I got) less the shipping cost like you said. But I got $0.
