I paid for an item, the seller used FedEx to ship it, I got a text with a picture of the item sitting on a doorstep that was not mine and looked nothing like mine saying it was delivered. I asked the seller where they shipped it, no reply. I asked again, no reply. I called FedEx Customer service and gave them the tracking number, they said neither my name nor my address were on the shipping label. I told all of this to the seller, asked the seller to call FedEx Customer Service, they refused. The seller told me I could get a refund from ebay. I started a claim with ebay, they refused to honor it saying the seller claimed it was delivered. They didn't even call FedEx Customer Service to see where and to whom it was delivered. I contested their ruling and they doubled down saying no change would be made.
How can ebay be so incompetent and lazy that they won't even make a simple phone call, and they listen to a seller who is also too lazy to look into it? How can this be? And there isn't even a reply link on the notice saying no changes would be made.
Ebay investigations are garbage.

Once a case has been closed, it is not possible to reopen it or file another case.

It is not the responsibility of Ebay nor the seller to investigate.
- Go to your Purchase History, find the item and double check the order details to make sure that the correct shipping address is indicated.
- Ask FedEx to give you a written document that the item was delivered elsewhere other than your Ebay shipping address in order to appeal the case decision to Ebay.

FedEx wouldn't tell me where it was delivered. They said it was far away from my location but that's all they told me. I checked and my address is correct in my account.

YES IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EBAY TO MAKE A 2 MIN. PHONE CALL BEFORE REFUSING TO HOLD THE SELLER ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR MISTAKE, AND MAKING ME PAY FOR IT.
As it is an incompetent seller can screw up, lie, and get paid no problem.
That is a stupid policy and bad business practice.
I'll be using a LOT MORE AMAZON from now on, ebay is a clown show.

Get FedEx to put it in writing that the package was not shipped to your address and present that to Ebay.

Ebay closed the case. Is it possible to resubmit it? I don't see any way to do that.

Thank you. I'll try that path.
