Spectrum contacted me, so I thought, to offer my cable bill at a 50% reduction for 2 years if I paid 6 months ahead using eBay gift cards. The timing was perfect as I had just filled out a survey a couple of days ago complaining about the cable cost and stating that I could switch to Dish Network for half the price of Spectrum. They stated eBay was working with Spectrum to offer this discount. After the transaction I then read the warning on the eBay gift cards which made me suspicious of the whole thing so I called the real Spectrum and they verified that there has been no change to my account.
Is there anything I can do to stop the use of the 3 gift cards totaling $450?
Nick

Scammers spend the money on the cards as soon as possible to prevent anyone else from using the cards first. Your money was likely spent within minutes, with little or no chance of recovery once it was spent.

To add...
The only legitimate place to use an eBay gift card is when you pay for an eBay purchase through eBay checkout on the eBay website.

That sucks. I'm sorry you read the warnings too late.
The terms on the gift cards are no refunds. They're like cash. If you lose them or someone steals them you're SOL.
There's been BILLIONS lost to online scams and scammers. It always starts with a great deal, an offer too good to pass up.

Thanks for all 4 replies and as I thought I am SOL for the money. Obviously I am not happy about being scammed out of $450 but the good news is it wasn’t more money and that amount isn’t going to make or break me. To give y’all a laugh I made sure to thank the scammer for helping me reduce my cable bill. After we hung up he must have been rolling on the floor laughing his ass off.
PS This is my maiden voyage in anything related to eBay or a community posting.
If possible I will pull my post tomorrow afternoon as there is nothing I can do snout this and I don’t need to advertise my foolishness any further.
Thanks again.

Please consider leaving you post. It will help others. Believe me, as unfortunate as it is, you are not alone. Many members come here every day having been victimized by a gift card scam.
(And no one knows who you are...we can only see your user ID, not your name.)
All the best to you.
