Need help. I sold a marine motor a few months ago. Buyer bought it and discovered they made a mistake as motor was an earlier year than there boat. I had a 14 day return policy however buyer refused to pay return shipping and had initiated a return past the 14 day period anyway. I tried to work things out with buyer but after many phone calls I learned my engine was sitting outside in the weather at her mechanic's shop. Motor now essentially destroyed I didn't want it back anyway.
60 some days went by still no resolution as buyer was uncooperative, deceitful and unwilling to take any responsibility for her mistake. I was out my motor and $500 plus in shipping cost. Anyway she was now past and outside of Ebay's buyer protection policies, so she filed a chargeback with her payment institution.
The amount in controversy is $2300 , a large amount for myself and my family to lose at this lean time of year. I have provided evidence of delivery and that the motor I listed is the exact motor that was delivered to the buyer. I has now been over 30 days since the money was taken from my account and I have anxiety now. I have 100 % feedback on Ebay and have been a constant top rated seller. I always give my buyers the benefit of doubt but this case was wrought with deception from the buyer from the beginning.
They wanted me to ship to a different address, they said their mechanic deemed the motor unusable, etc.
Anyway, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. This is a significant amount of money for us, and we desperately need a resolution.
Brian
