Why can't I access my personnel account on ebay any longer

For more than 13 years I have been using paypal on ebay to buy more than a 1,000 items. Just recently I wanted to start selling on the Internet and I got a business account with Paypal. I wanteed to buy on Ebay and sell on line. Since I got my Business account Ebay automatically puts me into my paypal business account. Now I can not use ebay any longer to purchase any thing because when I purchase something on Ebay, Ebay no longer gives me opportunity to to advise them if I want to use my personnel checking account or my business checking account. And when I try to use my business account, Ebay asks me for my internet banking information and I do not use Internet banking with my bank, I do not use credit cards so I can no longer purchase any thing on Ebay.

Is there any thing that I can do to start buying again on Ebay.

I am buying on Ebay, not selling. I have purchased on ebay for 13 years and I still want to do so. but I can no longer buy on Ebay because the systm is not allowing to do so. I do not use credit cards, I do not give out my debit card number. I do not use internet banking. I can no longer use Ebay after 13 years.

Please advise, is there any thing that I can do?

When you want to buy something, choose Pay Pal when you check out and log in to the Pay Pal account you want to use to pay.

If you're not selling on Ebay, you don't have to worry about a business or checking account.

I just finished talking to a Ebay Customer Rep. Here is what I found out:

When I purchase some thing from Ebay  the checkout page can look very similar but can be very different. I my case, depending on what Item I was buying, the business paypal Checking account would come up but in another case the same item from a differnt vendor, my Business PayPal checking would come up. There is no why to change the PayPal checking account in either case and they are different windows (slightly different), The PayPal Rep. saiod that he will get back to me. Maybe hi will. Before I called I thought that I had reached the end for puirchasing from PayPal.

I do not know if the problem will be solved or if it can be solved but I do know that before the call I thought it was the end of Ebay for me.

That PayPal account that you use to make purchases can be chosen by you at checkout. If you are automatically completing checkout without requiring a login to PayPal, and the wrong PayPal is receiving the transaction, that would mean that PayPal has linked the wrong account to eBay checkout.

Go into your PayPal Business account that is making payments to eBay and look for the authorization that you can cancel.

Avatar (droplist) > Account Settings > Money, Banks, and Cards > Automatic Payments

1. Select eBay (there may be several different ones, so choose the one you want to see)
2. Click the Cancel button.

I think that you hit on it ShipScript. I started doing something like you have suggested and went to a different navigator window and at that point my personnel PayPal account started to appear and we never completed what we started earlier follow very close to your suggestion. I have to tell you, I am 83 yrs. old, that I built my first computer in 1971 and had to program it with toggle switches on the front panel and am now just getting into the 21st century. I have to take a rest now but tommow, I will try to follow your really great suggestions and want to thank you very much.

I have several different PayPal and eBay accounts for various purposes. Since I will often access them from the same browser, I frequently get an email from PayPal that my computer is recognized and I won't need to sign in at checkout. Well Harrumph!  I don't allow my computer to save any passwords because I don't want to be automatically signed in anywhere. In addition to vulnerabilities, it can cause the kind of cross-account mistakes you are seeing.

PayPal has recently updated their email to show the message on the left (below).

The (legitimate) link pointed to PayPal and carried an encoded payload specific to the account. 

The browser opened a login page for PayPaI, but the browser had remembered field-data for a different account, so I had to change that to match the account that received the PayPal email.

Once logged in, the screen on the right was shown. The "Turn off" button seemed to do something.

However, as soon as I logged in again, I received the same email above. 

When I tried the same link on a different PayPal account, I did not see the screen on the right (above) and was instead shown the screen below.

I suspect the repetitive list of logins is how PayPal determines the computer is recognized and that auto-login would be allowed, so I turned off all but two to see if that prevents recurrence.  I want to be asked for my password every time.

Thanks very much  again ShipScript, as mentioned, I really appreciate your help and what makes it great is that you had some similar experiences and you are taking the time to go through them with me.

Yesterday I went down to the baknkand put some money into the account that I wanted to use just for selling., so that if I purchase something small I am covered. U want to try to find out if I purchase some thing of Ebay and the bank account that created for selling comes up with my Ebay purchase, if the transaction will go through. Yesterday the bank told me that if there is no money in the bank account  and I do not do Internet banking , the bank will not  transfer any funds and I will not get charged a penalty. At this time, I do not mind having a single bank account for buying  and selling under those conditions and it would be easier during tax season as it seems that  PayPal will furnish a record of transactions if I do enough business.  I want to find out if the transaction will go through both ways  when the  if I have money in the business account. If it does, maybe I can I can use a single checking account for Ebay and PayPal only. The only restriction that the bank has is when I do not use Internet banking, I have to go to the bank in person or on the telephone to transfer from one banking account to another  banking account.

You know, when I built my first computer, there was no Internet transfer of funds and now, it is amazing how Internet transfer of funds has change the world and all of the opportunity that has come along with it.  I  had three brothers who were much older than me, my oldest brother would be 104 yrs. old if living today. All three brothers were great salesman and I can only wonder what would have happened if they were still alive today.
