What to do if a seller cancels order for false reason

I recently purchased an item that was later cancelled the reason said I asked for cancellation but I did not when I asked the seller they said it was lost and that they had already messaged me when I read their first message they stated the reason was the item was out of stock the item was refunded for that I am thankful. My problem is that the cancelation says I asked and this is a lie and my concern is that it may effect me as a buyer is this true if it does not but benefits them should I be upset ? I am bummed out that my order was cancelled the day before I was expecting it to arrive but not enough to wish a negative impact on their business.
