What is auto-pay

Last night, something called auto-pay kicked in after I won a few auctions on EBay and paid for my purchases without my knowledge. What is that, and how do I turn it off?

@jamecolbor-3  This is a setting a seller controls in their account settings.  You will know that a seller requires immediate payment with Auto Pay when you make a bid or offer on an item and the site asks you to enter your payment method and verify the delivery address PRIOR to placing a bid or offer.
