Shill feedback

Out of 350 confirmed auctions, over 308 came from the same person and the rest from around 6 people?  Each time this one person buys a 1 cent pearl? That he loves/ gushes over?  Many have left eBay due to the failure to police fraud.  Fake feedback is a form of fraud.

What ever happened to safe harbor?

Re: Shill feedback

Hi @achloegirl

eBay doesn't go through everyone's feedback profiles looking for 'fraud'.  It responds mainly to reports.

Try reporting the profile to one of the CS reps on social media ... who are considered the most knowledgeable and helpful.  Alert them to the policy violation of 'buying feedback'.

Re: Shill feedback

I'm not on Twitter or Facebook so there is nothing on ebay?  We used to be able to report a listing or seller but now we cannot?  This is an issue because the items being auctioned rely on seller feedback to back up authenticity ( gemstones)

@achloegirl

I understand the issue ... but it's difficult reporting this type of problem without speaking to a CS rep to explain what they need to look for in the seller's feedback

I'm not on social media either ... but right now that's where the superior eBay reps are located.  [The ones you can reach on 'Help' are located overseas, and are not likely to be able to take any action on the problem ... assuming they even understand what you're telling them.]

I would open a Facebook account for the sole purpose of interacting with knowledgeable eBay reps.  It's usually not something that a buyer-only needs to do ... but the issue you want to report probably requires it.

Another alternative:

At the link below, you can request a call back from eBay by clicking Have us call you on the left side of the page. If you don't see that option, click Chat with our automated assistant. Then type "agent" at the bottom in the chat box. You'll see an option to request a call back there.

And another one:

You can report the seller here:
