SELLING ITEMS ON EBAY ???

Hi

I wonder if i can get some feedback on selling on ebay this last few months or more!!

I have been selling on here for 24 years and done fairly well the last few years but not as good as

the early years.   Recently i have listed total of 40 - 50 items at a time - and each time it did not sell ebay suggest you reduce your item for better selling?  I have done this on most of those 40 / 50 items

and reduced them so low that I finally took them off and gave them away.  I am selling items worth a few dollars and cannot even sell things for 3 and 4 dollars.  Can someone confirm if they are having these problems as well as Ebay would not speak to me about that they just talk to me in circles - something is not right in Ebay - If i sell something for $5.00 after comm. and fees i end up with about 2.00 more or less.  not worth my work - supplies - shipping and time... thanks hope to hear from you out there... some buyers have said there are problems but i am wondering if I should just quit and pack it in... No, selling is not as easy as it was in the early years. There are millions more sellers who are competing with you. There are also over a billion items listed at any one time so your items will not stand out as they once might have. You are selling in an over-saturated category as well.

It's difficult to make any money on low cost items unless you have tremendous volume. Also the cost of shipping has nearly doubled in the last 20 years and buyers don't want to pay that much to ship a low cost item.

I would not lower my pricing just because eBay's algorithm suggests it. eBay's algorithms and eBay employees are not experts on what you sell. YOU are. Sometimes raising your pricing works better.

You might try listing some of your items as Buy It Now instead of as auctions. You'll attract a whole different group of buyers who don't have the patience for auctions. If they see it, they want it now and are willing to pay for it. List a few items at what you think they are worth and see what happens!

Hi Inceptions - thanks very much i hear you loud and clear i am sick of reducing and then just

giving things away ... yes of course there are millions and billions of items and people - what sold

years back does not sell today.  Whole different lot of generations...thanks again
