Returns

Hi, a buyer wants to return item saying size is incorrect and that I advertised it incorrectly. I didn't, the size is stamped and I've produced manufacturer's size chart, it's black and white and is indisputable.  Various conversations were had and I declined to receive the item back for safety reasons (potential damage). I closed the return thread, assuming that would would close the dispute. Seller insists they are returning item anyway, regardless and the listing now says returned? I can't make contact with Ebay, chat box not responding?  Was closing the Return the correct thing to do please to not accept? Anyone experienced this?

What do you mean "You closed the thread"? How exactly did you close it? Did a buyer open a case for " Item not as Described "?

Returns

Thanks for reply, buyer opened a return request, various messages back and forth including my reasons for not accepting return. There was the option to close the return, that I thought was the correct response. Not a case for not as described because it's exactly described, just saying it doesn't fit.  I'm just concerned as now listing says 'returned' that I assume the buyer as instigated? Do I refuse to accept item in post? Sorry, never had a return before!

You were lucky that the buyer opened the wrong case, "Doesn't Fit" is a "Remorse" return. Depending on the cost of the item, the buyer could still open a Chargeback with their credit card company.

Ok, thank you. That seems extremely unfair. Messer from the start, making silly offers and then taking ages to pay. I've managed to send email to Ebay now so I'll se what they say.

Plus I have no returns policy.

A no returns policy means nothing to eBay if the buyer opens an item not as described case.  The no returns policy is only for buyers remorse which is the case that the buyer opened.  Most buyers know that they should open the item not as described case even for a remorse return since the seller cannot deny the return.

Yes, the buyer could still file a charge back with their credit card company.
