I sold a fragile Christmas decoration. It was bubble wrapped and. I thought, well protected from USPS. However, it arrived damaged. I offered a partial refund and let her keep the item s it looked like a fairly simply repair. She didn't even answer me, and irnored all of my correspondence. I sked eBay to issue a return label, as the damage didn't appear to be very bad and I figured and I could repair it for myself. The box arrived today. Although her pictures showed a badly damaged box, she shipped in the same box without any repairs to it. Some of my original wrapping was thrown in on top of the item. The building is now in smithereens with no option of repair. Am I obligated to give her a refund? I want to be fair, but it seems that the buyers should be fair too!

Yes, you need to give the buyer a full refund.
The buyer was under no obligation to accept the partial refund in order to repair the item.

I didn't expect her to have to accept a partial refund. I only added that as it showed I thought, that the photos were of a partially broken object--not one smashed past redemption. Shouldn't she have to use reasonable care in returning the item? It certainly is not in the condition that it was shipped to her--or even the condition that her pictures showed it arrived to her in. I have always tried to be fair and honest with my buyers. Don't they have the same obligation to the seller?
