Refunding for an item that has not arrived. Gave the buyer all my money from the sale and postage.

I mailed an item that has arrived.  I have beentracking it and tracking it and it has not been delivered.  She filed something about it not being delivered so eBay just arbitrarily gave her all her money back for the item AND shipping.  That is bull **bleep** and not fair to me.  I had already started the process to file a claim but I guess I won't now.  If she had filed a claim she would have only gotten back what she paid for the item not all the postage to.  This is crap.  And do you think I can talk to someone NO

Just read the news that seller protection is in place because of the bad weather  it reads

"We’ll automatically protect affected sellers’ performance ratings and remove any associated negative and neutral feedback."

BUT nowhere does it say they aren't going to take money out of your account for packages that  people file no delivered cases on.  OH NO - that's not going to happen.

Your first sentence said it arrived, but then you said tracking showed it was not delivered.

Ebay goes by tracking information, so if tracking did not show delivery, and the estimated date of delivery had passed, Ebay will find in favor of the buyer (refunding price of item + original buyer shipping charges) if the buyer filed a Refund Request/Item Not Received.

Hi @19twister48

Did you provide eBay with a tracking number after the buyer filed an ‘item not received’ claim?  eBay often delays refunding a buyer when tracking shows the item is moving through the system.

It gave me choices to do when she filed and I picked message the buyer.  They NEVER told me they need the tracking number and, in fact, why do I need to give it to them when all they have to do is pull of the order details and it is right there.

I have so incredibly angry right now.  The weather has terrible but they still keep everyone on the same timeline.

Thanks

Jenny

And, the buyer automatically gets the tracking number when it is shipped as I have buyers all the time say "I checked the tracking number".
eBay is just looking for any excuse to make the buyer happy at the expense of the Sellers.
I have no control over the mail.  If I did, things would be different or a lot of people would lose their jobs.

And that is not fair to the Seller.  I can't drive and deliver all my packages in person.  At some point, it should become the buyer's responsibility to call their post office and say "what did you do with my package.  It shows delivered but not to me"

I recently had a package not show up and found out the tracking says "THE SELLER" - that's me requested it be returned.  I didn't do it - but according to a woman at the center where it last arrived EBAY requested it be sent back.  I said they don't do that!!  eBay and they said they don't do that but will make sure it never happens again but as yet no one has the package - no further activity on the tracking since it was "RETURNED".
