You sold some items that were listed with retail ground - was it one of those? This means pay at the post office, so you can't print a label on eBay for that service.
I do not know why the system would default to ups instead of picking priority mail - priority is the usual default when you try to print a label for a non-label service. Maybe they changed it since a flat rate envelope is usually not a good choice for something listed with retail ground.
Usually post offices are very good about notifying ups when they get a package like yours. You could try talking to the folks at your PO and ask how they handle them. If it isn't a frequent occurrence at your PO, they may still have your package, waiting for ups to pick it up.
That is really odd. None of it makes sense, since you can't print a label for retail ground - retail means you're going to pay at the PO.
velvet@ebay Is it possible to get a shipping expert to look at this? The carrier says usps, but the tracking # is a ups #. The OP can provide the order info for them. Thanks!

It doesn't sound like we're seeing other instances like you've described here. Have you seen this happen more than once? Where did it show the USPS info but a UPS tracking number? I looked up the number with UPS and it just shows label created, so it doesn't appear that USPS has handed it over to them. What has USPS told you about situations like this where a package is dropped off with the "wrong" carrier?
You have cleared up why the USPS Retail and USPS carrier is on the Order Details when you said that is what the buyer selected. I truly believe I purchased a USPS label, but apparently I did not (?)

Oh good! I'm so glad to hear that USPS has handed it off to UPS. Hopefully your buyer will have it soon if they don't already @4saw4!
